On Tuesday, July 7, 2026, Polish-Finnish company ICEYE, a global leader in satellite reconnaissance, successfully placed four new SAR (Synthetic Aperture Radar) satellites in orbit. The satellites, integrated with the launch vehicle by Exolaunch, lifted off from Vandenberg Space Force Base in California as part of SpaceX’s Transporter-17 mission. Each ICEYE satellite has established communications, and routine commissioning and calibration procedures are underway.

ICEYE has now placed a total of 76 satellites in orbit. Today’s launch expands ICEYE’s commercial constellation with another fourth-generation SAR satellite, or Gen4, and includes satellites for national missions, including those supported by ICEYE US and the third satellite for the Finnish Defence Forces.
Gen4 satellites provide SAR imagery at the highest commercially available resolution, up to 16 cm, while the constellation architecture helps reduce revisit times over monitored areas. They can image swaths up to 400 km wide and capture more images during a single pass, making it easier and faster to cover key areas of interest.
ICEYE is doubling its production rate, from the current 50 satellites per year to a target of 100 satellites annually in 2027 and beyond, with the launch schedule adjusted accordingly.
The constellations built by ICEYE are available as a fully sovereign capability, free from ITAR restrictions. ICEYE delivers satellites as part of a complete, secure system that can be launched, deployed, and brought to operational readiness within 12 months. The system also includes the ground segment, comprehensive training, and continuous software updates.
ICEYE recently delivered a fully operational, independent Earth observation satellite system to the Polish Armed Forces under the MikroSAR program, building the POLSARIS constellation. Just 12 months passed from contract signing to operational readiness, making it one of the fastest satellite system deployments in history. This model is now being replicated in other countries in Europe, the Middle East, and Asia, and the pace of activity is accelerating.
Each national system deployed by ICEYE strengthens not only the country that uses it, but also the wider intelligence network. To date, seven governments in Europe have acquired ICEYE satellites, making the company a leading provider of space-based reconnaissance systems.
Launch success! Four new ICEYE SAR satellites are in orbit, strengthening our global fleet and delivering sovereign capabilities for ICEYE US and the Finnish Defence Forces.
76 satellites deployed. The pace isn’t slowing.
