On Monday, July 6, 2026, the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine reported a successful drone attack on Russia’s largest refinery in Omsk, owned by Gazpromneft-ONPZ AO and located in the West Siberian Plain near the border with Kazakhstan. The Ukrainian drones covered nearly 2,500 km, making the facility the second refinery in the Asian part of the Russian Federation to be attacked, after the Antipinsky Oil Refinery in Tyumen.

Today, units of the Special Operations Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine struck the oil refinery in Omsk, the capital of Omsk Oblast, located almost 2,500 km from Ukraine’s state border. It was the last of the 11 largest gasoline producers in the Russian Federation to be attacked by Ukrainian forces.
It is the most powerful oil refinery in the Russian Federation, with a processing capacity of more than 21 million tons per year, and specializes in the production of a wide range of fuels, lubricants, and petrochemical products. The plant has one of the highest oil refining depths in the Russian Federation, at around 99%. It is also nominally responsible for around 10% of Russia’s total refining capacity and 50% of production for the Siberian Federal District.
The refinery produces high-octane motor gasoline, including AI-92, AI-95, and G-Drive 100, Euro 5 diesel fuel, and aviation kerosene, including TS-1 and RT grades. It also produces benzene, paraxylene, and orthoxylene, specialized products and lubricants, feedstock for carbon black production, and motor and industrial oils. In addition, it was involved in supplying the Russian occupation army.
A hit was recorded on the industrial facility’s premises, followed by a fire, and the extent of the damage is currently being assessed. According to preliminary information, the ELOU-AVT-11 primary oil refining unit, with a design capacity of 8.4 million tons of crude oil per year, was hit.
According to unofficial reports, at least one Su-57 multirole aircraft was scrambled to intercept Ukrainian FP-1 drones. It reportedly destroyed only one of the intruders, while the others reached their target.

Earlier that same day, the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine reported on the effects of attacks carried out on the night of July 5–6.
Drones struck the Slavneft-YANOS oil refinery in Yaroslavl, Yaroslavl Oblast. Explosions were recorded in the target area, and smoke was visible on the company’s premises.
The Yaroslavl oil refinery is one of the largest oil refineries in the Russian Federation. The facility’s design production capacity is 15 million tons of crude oil per year. The plant produces motor gasoline, diesel fuel, aviation fuel, lubricants, and other products used in particular to support the military logistics of the aggressor state.

Targets hit included the Novatek-Ust-Luga oil refinery in Slobodka and the permanent deployment site of the 26th Missile Brigade of the Russian Ground Forces near Luga, in Leningrad Oblast of the Russian Federation.
The TES-Terminal-1 transshipment terminal for light petroleum products in Kerch was also hit. It is one of the largest storage and transshipment complexes for light petroleum products in Crimea. The company’s tank farm provides for the receipt, storage, and shipment of gasoline, diesel fuel, and other petroleum products, including for the needs of Russian occupation forces in Ukraine’s southern oblasts.
In addition, a railway overpass near Dovzhansk in Luhansk Oblast was hit. The Russians use it to move personnel, weapons, ammunition, and materiel.
A grouping with an unmanned aircraft system near Chervonopopivka and military equipment near Pysarivka in Luhansk Oblast were also damaged. The extent of the damage is currently being assessed.
