On Tuesday, August 18, 2026, representatives of US company Anduril Industries met at the Warsaw headquarters of the Polish Armaments Group (PGZ) in connection with plans to launch production of SL Barracuda-500M (SLB-500M) cruise missiles in Poland.

PGZ Management Board President Adam Leszkiewicz and First Vice President Arkadiusz Bąk met with representatives of Anduril Industries—Brian Schimpf, the company’s co-founder and CEO, and Brian Moran, Vice President for Europe.
The talks marked another stage in the developing cooperation. Following the strategic agreement signed on October 27, 2025, PGZ moved on to an agreement signed on July 6 this year providing for the launch in Poland of assembly and subsequently production of SL Barracuda-500M cruise missiles with the participation of Military Aviation Works No. 2 in Bydgoszcz (WZL-2). The missiles are to be offered both to the Polish Armed Forces and to the first potential export customer, Estonia.
„The direction remains unchanged: building production capabilities in Poland, increasing the share of domestically sourced components, transferring technology, and developing the capabilities of the Polish defense industry in the field of advanced autonomous systems. We are consistently moving from talks and agreements to concrete industrial capabilities being built in Poland,” the press release stated.

Barracuda
On September 12, 2024, Anduril Industries unveiled a new family of Barracuda-M cruise missiles comprising the Barracuda-100M, Barracuda-250M, and Barracuda-500M. As described by the manufacturer, they are expendable, autonomous turbojet-powered aircraft designed for low-cost mass production. The missiles are intended to be launched from aircraft, both manned and unmanned, as well as from helicopters and naval and ground-based platforms.
Each of the Barracuda variants has broadly the same overall configuration, with a pair of deployable wings in the center section of the fuselage and folding tail surfaces at the rear. Conformal air intakes integrated into the airframe feed their propulsion systems. According to the manufacturer, all three missiles have a maximum flight speed of up to 926 km/h (500 knots), can withstand loads of up to 5G, and offer more than 120 minutes of flight endurance.
On June 8, 2025, German group Rheinmetall AG announced that it had entered into a strategic partnership with Anduril covering the integration of the next-generation Battlesuite digital communications platform with autonomous unmanned systems from the Barracuda and Fury families, as well as cooperation on solid-fuel rocket propulsion systems, with the solutions to be offered on European markets.
Meanwhile, on May 13 this year, Anduril signed a framework agreement with the US Department of Defense under the Low-Cost Containerized Missiles (LCCM) program, under which it is to produce 1,000 ground-launched SLB-500M missiles annually for three years. On July 5, a second framework agreement was signed covering serial production of palletized and combat aircraft-launched variants of the missile. The palletized version is also to be tested aboard Brazilian Embraer C-390 Millennium transport aircraft.
