On Tuesday, August 18, 2026, it was announced that the previous day the Warsaw headquarters of the Polish Armaments Group (PGZ) was visited by İlhami Keleş, General Manager of the Turkish company Makine ve Kimya Endüstrisi A.Ş. (MKE), who headed a delegation comprising members of the company’s management board. During the visit, he met with PGZ Management Board President Adam Leszkiewicz.

“During the meeting, both sides discussed in detail opportunities for joint production and potential areas of cooperation,” the Turkish side said.
“A good meeting and important talks (…) This was the announced next stage of discussions launched during the July meeting in Türkiye between the President of the PGZ Management Board and MKE General Manager İlhami Keleş. The talks focused primarily on ammunition programs, air defense, and ensuring access to key raw materials required for defense production,” the Polish Armaments Group said in a press release (Polish President Karol Nawrocki at the Ankara Summit: NATO is united).
“The meeting served to outline prospects for the development of the Polish-Turkish partnership in the defense sector and to exchange experience in areas important for Poland’s security, regional security, and strengthening the defense capabilities of allied states,” the statement added.
As a reminder, on March 22, 2025, MKE reported on its Facebook profile that technical discussions had been held on projects to be jointly implemented by the Turkish company and the Polish Armaments Group. The talks were held with a delegation led by Arkadiusz Bąk, then a member of the PGZ Management Board and currently its First Vice President (editor’s note). The previous day, MKE General Manager İlhami Keleş met with Deputy Minister of National Defence Paweł Bejda, who is responsible for overseeing the technical modernization of the Polish Armed Forces.
It is also worth noting that this year MKE supplied, through Warsaw-based Mildat, 100,000 rounds of 20 mm HEI M56A3 combat ammunition and TP M55A2 training ammunition for FA-50GF light combat aircraft.
