The event, organized by the Polish Armaments Group (PGZ), is intended to develop the domestic supply chain for the defense sector and increase the participation of Polish companies in Polish Armed Forces modernization programs, in line with the slogan: We produce your security. In Polish factories.

The Kuyavian-Pomeranian Voivodeship occupies a special place on the industrial map of the PGZ Group. Four key Group companies operate in the region:
- Wojskowe Zakłady Uzbrojenia (WZU),
- Zakłady Chemiczne Nitro-Chem,
- Bydgoskie Zakłady Elektromechaniczne Belma,
- Wojskowe Zakłady Lotnicze Nr 2 (WZL-2).
Their presence creates broad opportunities for cooperation with companies representing a wide range of industries and specializations.
During the meeting in Toruń, entrepreneurs had the opportunity to learn about the principles of cooperation with the PGZ Group and the current needs of Belma, Nitro-Chem, and WZU. The program also covered certification, quality requirements, local-content policy, and financing options for projects carried out for the defense sector.
“Such direct meetings with entrepreneurs are extremely important because they make it possible to effectively involve Polish companies, including locally operating businesses, in the implementation of multi-billion-zloty defense orders. The government wants as much of this funding as possible to remain in Poland and strengthen our companies in line with the local-content principle. Toruń and the entire region have the potential to find their place on the map of centers playing an important role in the Republic of Poland’s defense system. For PGZ, cooperation with local businesses is not only a way to implement government policy, but above all a real contribution to strengthening Poland’s security,” emphasized Grzegorz Karpiński, Secretary of State at the Chancellery of the Prime Minister.
Forum participants were also able to learn about support available to entrepreneurs from the Kuyavian-Pomeranian regional government, the City of Toruń, and the Pomeranian Special Economic Zone. The solutions presented included tax relief and support for strategic investments in the defense sector.
An important part of the event consisted of individual business meetings. Entrepreneurs could directly present their capabilities, experience, and offerings to representatives of PGZ Group companies and discuss potential areas of cooperation. The Forum created an opportunity to establish new business relationships and identify companies that could participate in current and future orders for the Polish Armed Forces.
At present, more than 1,000 partners from the Kuyavian-Pomeranian Voivodeship are already interested in cooperation with the PGZ Group. These include manufacturing, technology, and service companies, as well as entities supplying components, materials, and specialized solutions used by the defense industry.
“The Kuyavian-Pomeranian Voivodeship is of particular importance to the PGZ Group. Four key companies from our Group operate here, and a strong industrial ecosystem has developed around them, already encompassing more than 1,000 partners. We want to make even better use of this potential, which is why, following the meeting in Toruń, we will also meet with entrepreneurs in Bydgoszcz in a few days. We want Polish companies, regardless of their size, to be able to join the domestic supply chain for the defense industry. Every new competent partner means more resilient supply chains, a greater share of the Polish economy in modernization programs, and greater national security,” said PGZ Management Board President Adam Leszkiewicz.
The event in Bydgoszcz is scheduled for October 6 and will include participation from the Bydgoszcz-based companies Belma, Nitro-Chem, and WZL No. 2.
The organization of two meetings in the region reflects both the considerable potential of local industry and the broad range of capabilities of PGZ Group companies operating in the Kuyavian-Pomeranian region, from drone production and aircraft modernization to the manufacture of explosives and participation in the project to localize production of 155 mm artillery ammunition.
