Nearly 200 business representatives took part in the Regional Forum of the Polish Defense Industry, held in Kalisz on 17 September. The event was organized by the Polish Armaments Group as part of the We Produce Your Security. In Polish Plants project, whose goal is to develop a domestic supply chain for the defense sector and increase the participation of Polish companies in the implementation of Polish Armed Forces modernization programs.

The forum brought together companies interested in cooperating with PGZ. Participants were able to learn about the rules of cooperation with the PGZ Group, the current requirements of Wojskowe Zakłady Uzbrojenia (WZU), Wytwórnia Sprzętu Komunikacyjnego PZL-Kalisz, and Wojskowe Zakłady Lotnicze No. 2 (WZL-2), certification requirements, the assumptions of the local content policy, as well as opportunities to obtain financing for projects carried out for the defense sector.
Individual business meetings attracted the greatest interest, giving companies an opportunity to present their capabilities and offers directly to representatives of PGZ Group companies. The forum created a space for establishing new business relationships and identifying potential areas of cooperation within the domestic defense industry.
It was no coincidence that the event was hosted by the University of Kalisz. At the end of July, the university, WSK PZL-Kalisz, and the Technical and Electronics School Complex in Kalisz signed an agreement establishing the Kalisz Industrial Competence Partnership. The initiative is intended to provide young people with a coherent career development path encompassing secondary education, higher education, and employment in modern industry.
„When we launched the Regional Forums of the Polish Defense Industry in April this year, we were cooperating with nearly 12,000 companies. Today, the number of entities registered in the PGZ cooperation ecosystem has already exceeded 14,000. This is the best proof that Polish companies want to participate in building national security and see a role for themselves in the development of the domestic defense industry. Our task as an integrator is to connect the potential of major defense companies, innovative businesses, academia, and research institutions. Kalisz is an excellent example of a place where these capabilities come together within a single ecosystem. The presence of strong PGZ Group companies and the involvement of the University of Kalisz demonstrate that we are building security not only through investment in production facilities, but also through the development of personnel, technologies, and partnerships that will strengthen the Polish economy and defense capabilities for decades to come,” said Adam Leszkiewicz, President of the Management Board of PGZ.
The Regional Forums of the Polish Defense Industry are one element of PGZ’s strategy aimed at developing domestic industrial potential and strengthening cooperation between major defense companies, the SME sector, academia, and research institutions.
The next Regional Forums of the Polish Defense Industry will be held in Toruń on 30 September and Bydgoszcz on 6 October.
