The new facility, opened on Friday, September 25, 2026, houses an expanded Satellite Operations Center from which the ICEYE constellation is controlled, as well as enlarged laboratories where solutions shaping the future of the company’s satellite systems are developed and tested. The next stage of the investment will be the construction of an environmentally controlled facility for the assembly, integration, and testing of complete satellites, enabling design, research and development, and production activities to be carried out in parallel in Warsaw.

“The next stage of Poland’s development will belong to industries in which knowledge and technology determine competitive advantage. The space sector is a good example. It is growing year by year, and this growth can benefit the entire economy: every investment in technology triggers a chain of further investments in other industries. This value chain and these capabilities must be built in Poland. I am pleased that companies such as ICEYE are expanding their engineering and operations teams in Warsaw. These are investments not for a quarter or a year, but for decades. These are the kinds of capabilities on which we want to base the next stage of Poland’s development,” said Minister of Finance and Economy Andrzej Domański.
Constellation controlled from Warsaw
Warsaw is ICEYE’s center of expertise for satellite operations. The Satellite Operations Center monitors the technical condition of the satellites and directs their activities. It is also the main center for commissioning new satellites into service, including early-orbit operations and the configuration and calibration of units placed into orbit. The mission planning and customer operations team manages the entire imagery tasking cycle, from receiving a request to the secure delivery of data to the user. Software tools supporting mission planning, monitoring, and quality control are also developed here, while operators and users of ICEYE systems are trained in Warsaw as well.
Engineering and work on the future of the constellation
ICEYE also operates one of its main engineering centers in Warsaw. Teams based there are responsible for radar signal processing (FPGA), onboard software, electronics, communications and radio systems, propulsion, and systems engineering. Components of the satellites’ power systems are also manufactured in Poland. Research and development work focuses on improving current satellites and designing new solutions that expand the capabilities of the ICEYE constellation.
“The Warsaw team is growing at a pace that required a new headquarters and infrastructure adapted to the scale of operations. The new center provides space and facilities for further growth in the coming years. Poland has been one of ICEYE’s foundations from the very beginning, and the more we do globally, the more also happens in Warsaw. This is also where we are carrying out programs for the Polish Armed Forces: we delivered MikroSAR to the Polish Armed Forces within a year of signing the contract, and together with the Polish Armaments Group we have just begun work on the concept of a military satellite communications system. I am convinced that even more will happen here in the coming years,” said Rafał Modrzewski, CEO and co-founder of ICEYE.
Global growth, Polish pillar
ICEYE’s presence in Poland dates back to the company’s earliest days. The Polish subsidiary was established in 2017, even before the first ICEYE satellite reached orbit. Further expansion in Poland is part of the company’s rapid global growth: in recent months alone, ICEYE has opened new offices in Germany (Berlin and Munich), Portugal (a competence center in Lisbon), India (New Delhi), the Netherlands (Amsterdam), and South Korea (Seoul). ICEYE now employs more than 1,000 people and has offices on four continents, while Poland, where more than 150 employees are based, remains one of the company’s key pillars.
