On Wednesday, September 23, 2026, Lublin Police reported that the previous evening they had received a notification about an incident on a railway line in Jedlanka, Łuków County. According to the report, two freight trains traveling in opposite directions struck concrete blocks that had been placed on the tracks.

As a result of striking the obstacles, the front cowcatchers on both locomotives were damaged. Neither train derailed, and none of the drivers was injured. Rail traffic at the site was suspended for several hours following the incident.
Due to the suspected breach of railway infrastructure security, officers from the Łuków County Police Headquarters and criminal investigators from the Provincial Police Headquarters in Lublin carried out activities at the scene, together with counterterrorism officers from the Independent Counterterrorism Police Subunit (SPKP) in Lublin.
The District Prosecutor, officers from the Central Bureau of Police Investigation, the local branch of the Internal Security Agency (ABW), and the State Commission for Railway Accident Investigation were also notified of the incident.
A preliminary inspection carried out under the supervision of a prosecutor found no explosives.
The investigation is being conducted initially under Article 173 of the Polish Criminal Code and concerns causing a disaster in transport.
