On Thursday, September 24, 2026, WB Group and Bulgarian company Optix signed a cooperation agreement at the Embassy of the Republic of Bulgaria in Warsaw. The document was signed by Piotr Wojciechowski, President of WB Group, and Petar Cholakov, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Optix, in the presence of Michaela Karadimova, Deputy Minister of Economy, Investment and Industry of the Republic of Bulgaria.

The agreement sets out the framework for WB Group and Optix to prepare a technology transfer plan covering the production, integration, and in-service support of the Fonet and Topaz systems, as well as Comp@n family tactical radios in Bulgaria, with a view to their use in artillery systems.
The agreement was signed during the official visit of Bulgarian Prime Minister Rumen Radev to Poland. The Bulgarian delegation included, among others, Defence Minister Dimitar Stoyanov and Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Economy, Investment and Industry Aleksandar Pulev. The visit was also accompanied by a delegation of representatives of Bulgarian industry.
Under the agreement, Optix, whose facilities are located in Panagyurishte, is ultimately to become the Bulgarian center for assembly, installation, configuration, and after-sales support of systems offered by WB Group. The Bulgarian partner will receive documentation, the necessary equipment, and specialized training.
Fonet is an advanced communications platform developed by WB Group for use in military vehicles. The system is in service with the armed forces of several dozen countries and is manufactured in Poland as well as under license in a number of other countries, including the United States.
Topaz is an integrated artillery command-and-fire-control system used by the Polish Armed Forces. It is integrated, among other things, with AHS Krab and K9A1 Thunder self-propelled howitzers, M120K Rak self-propelled mortars, Langusta multiple rocket launchers, and WWR Homar-K launchers. In addition to Poland, the interoperable Topaz command system is also used by other countries, including NATO allies.
Comp@n is a family of software-defined military radios manufactured in series by Radmor for the Polish Armed Forces and export customers. Available in handheld, vehicle-mounted, and manpack configurations, the radios provide comprehensive security through TRANSEC, NETSEC, and COMSEC mechanisms.
Optix, founded in 1998 in Panagyurishte, is one of Bulgaria’s leading manufacturers of optical, optomechanical, and electro-optical systems for the defense and civilian sectors. The company specializes, among other things, in night-vision and thermal-imaging devices and employs more than 600 people.
