On Friday, September 25, 2026, the National Prosecutor’s Office announced that a prosecutor from the Mazovian Branch of the Department for Organized Crime and Corruption of the National Prosecutor’s Office in Warsaw had opened an investigation into suspected activity carried out on September 23, 2026, in Wola Krobowska on behalf of a foreign intelligence service and against the Republic of Poland, involving an act of sabotage and a terrorist offense through causing a fire at a Starlink satellite communications ground station, resulting in major property damage.

Findings to date indicate that the fire was caused by arson.
There are also reasonable grounds to suspect that the perpetrators acted on the instructions of Russian special services and on behalf of a foreign intelligence service against the Republic of Poland. The aim of their actions was to disrupt Starlink internet traffic and communications in Poland and other countries in Central and Eastern Europe.
The investigation was opened into an offense under Article 130 § 7 of the Polish Criminal Code in conjunction with Article 163 § 1(1) of the Criminal Code.
Necessary investigative measures
On September 24, 2026, prosecutors from the Mazovian Branch of the National Prosecutor’s Office carried out urgent investigative measures at the scene under Article 308 of the Code of Criminal Procedure, including an inspection of the scene and interviews with witnesses. These activities were conducted jointly with officers of the Internal Security Agency (ABW) and the Central Bureau of Police Investigation (CBŚP).
The proceedings are being conducted in rem. No charges have been brought against any individual so far.
The investigation has been entrusted to the Radom Branch of the Internal Security Agency and the Radom Directorate of the Central Bureau of Police Investigation.
