On Tuesday, September 22, 2026, Niewiadów Polska Grupa Militarna (NPGM) announced on social media an extension of its contract with the Armament Agency of the Polish Ministry of National Defence for the supply of Płomień signaling mines.

„A further 9,000 Płomień signaling mines will be delivered to the Armament Agency.
Following the expansion of the order, Zakłady Sprzętu Precyzyjnego Niewiadów will deliver a total of at least 33,500 units.
This is another order confirming the growing scale of production and the importance of the Niewiadów plant to Poland’s defense industry.”

On July 3, 2025, Zakłady Sprzętu Precyzyjnego (ZSP) Niewiadów, part of NPGM, signed a contract with the Armament Agency for the delivery of between 24,500 and 44,500 Płomień signaling mines for the Polish Armed Forces, with most deliveries scheduled for 2026 and 2027.
Płomień
The Płomień („Flame”) signaling mine, also designated Płomień-60, is the only mine and obstacle warfare device used to support engineering tasks related to force protection and survivability under the Construction and Breaching of Obstacles manual.
Once activated, the mine fires an illuminating charge. This allows friendly forces to be warned if an enemy enters a mined area. It can either be buried in the ground or placed on the surface and then camouflaged. The mine was approved for production by the Chief of Engineer Troops of the Polish Ministry of National Defence in 1962.
The Płomień signaling mine uses a 26 mm white-flare cartridge, known as a “white star.” It measures 36 mm × 124 mm and weighs 0.39 kg. The activation force required is 18–34 N. The illuminating charge is projected to an altitude of 65–80 m, with a burn time of 6–9 seconds. The mines are packed in sets of 45 in wooden crates measuring 800 × 475 × 300 mm and weighing 38 kg.
