Polish Armaments Group (PGZ) is launching a series of ten Regional Forums of the Polish Defense Industry under the slogan “Polish Industry for Security.” During the event, held on Friday, April 17, 2026, at the Silesia Center for Heritage and Art in Opole, a letter of intent was also signed with representatives of the Opole Voivodeship Regional Government on cooperation toward the establishment of the Opole Defense Cluster (Polish Armaments Group announces series of Regional Forums of the Polish Defense Industry).

The regional forums are aimed at manufacturing and technology companies, as well as SME-sector entities that want to develop cooperation with the defense industry. The initiative is intended to involve Polish entrepreneurs in the defense-sector supply chain and increase national production capabilities under the local-content concept. During the meeting in Opole, in addition to the presentation section, direct business meetings were also held with representatives of PGZ Group companies: PIT-Radwar, which has recently incorporated Wojskowe Zakłady Łączności No. 2 from Czernica, and PSO Maskpol.
At the same time, Polish Armaments Group signed a letter of intent with representatives of the Opole Voivodeship Regional Government on cooperation toward the establishment of the Opole Defense Cluster. The signatories also included the Opole Economic Development Center, the Opole Chamber of Commerce, the Opole Lodge of the Business Centre Club, the Katowice Special Economic Zone (KSSE), and the Wałbrzych Special Economic Zone Invest-Park (New Rosomak investment supported by KSSE).
The document provides, among other things, for an analysis of the voivodeship’s industrial and research resources in terms of their suitability for the supply chain and projects implemented by PGZ, the initiation of joint work on new technologies, support for the creation of competence centers in Opole Voivodeship, and cooperation with regional universities to train personnel specialized in defense technologies.
“As a leader and integrator, we want to encourage entities that have so far had little to do with defense to become active in this area. We also want to continuously improve dialogue with our partners. We are organizing the Regional Forums of the Defense Industry to shorten the distance — to show specifically what we need and in what areas we can cooperate. We are interested in production capabilities, technological capacities, and readiness for development. We want to build a national supply chain based on Polish companies. This is also the purpose of the letter of intent on the Opole Defense Cluster signed today. We plan to expand cooperation with Opole Voivodeship in order to acquire new suppliers, technologies, competencies, and personnel in another region of Poland,” said Adam Leszkiewicz, President of the Management Board of Polish Armaments Group.
Monika Jurek, Voivode of Opole, read out a letter from Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of National Defence Władysław Kosiniak-Kamysz addressed to the Forum participants:
“The Regional Forum of the Polish Defense Industry is an important initiative. This approach makes it possible to fully use the production potential of Polish companies and entrepreneurs. This means not only large plants in major cities, but also smaller companies, design offices, and technology centers. Together, we are building Poland’s security.”
The forum in Opole inaugurated a series of meetings that will take place in several industrial centers across the country under the patronage of the Ministry of National Defence. The next edition will be held on May 8 in Tarnów.
