On Saturday, February 7, 2026, the Armed Forces General Command (DG RSZ) announced on social media that the 18th Mechanized Division had received additional M1A2 SEPv3 (System Enhanced Package version 3) Abrams tanks.
The previous delivery of the latest-version Abrams tanks to the barracks of the 1st Warsaw Armored Brigade in Wesoła took place on July 10, 2025.
On December 1 of last year, the fourth sea shipment from the United States arrived in Poland, consisting of 32 M1A2 SEPv3 Abrams tanks. These joined earlier deliveries made on September 11 (38 units), May 9 (19 units), and January 18 (28 units).
The delivered vehicles underwent so-called deprocessing—a comprehensive zero-hour inspection following long-term sea transport—at the Wojskowe Zakłady Motoryzacyjne in Poznań, home to the Abrams Regional Competence Center. Additionally, the tanks are used to train soldiers at the Abrams Academy within the Land Forces Training Center (CSWL) in Poznań.
This means that in 2025 the United States delivered 117 tanks of this type out of a total of 250 ordered under the intergovernmental contract signed on April 5, 2022, valued at 4.75 billion USD.
They complement the 116 previously delivered used tanks in the M1A1 FEP (Firepower Enhancement Package) configuration. The last shipment arrived in Poland on June 26, 2024, and the vehicles were assigned to the 1st Tank Battalion of the 19th Mechanized Brigade in Żurawica and the 1st Tank Battalion of the 1st Warsaw Armored Brigade in Wesoła.
