On Wednesday, May 6, 2026, the Internal Security Agency (ABW) announced that it is returning to a good practice and, after a years-long break, has published an open report on its activities titled Selected Activities of the Internal Security Agency in 2024–2025.

The publication is not merely a summary of the Agency’s work, but also an explanation for citizens of what the Internal Security Agency does and what challenges Poland faces in the area of national security. Such knowledge builds trust, structures public debate, and helps people better understand that the security of the Republic of Poland is not just a slogan, but the daily, concrete work, service, and mission of many people.
The publication presents, among other things, the main directions of the Internal Security Agency’s activities in the areas of counterintelligence, counterterrorism, protection of strategic economic interests, protection of the Republic of Poland’s cyberspace, and protection of classified information.
The Internal Security Agency also writes about its international cooperation, as well as prevention and education, which form an important element of the country’s counterintelligence shield. To the extent possible, it provides facts and figures.
The chapter titled The Internal Security Agency in a Nutshell contains information on the service’s tasks and the powers granted to Agency officers. An integral part of the report is also a chapter devoted to good practices, which explains what behaviors to avoid and how to respond effectively in order to protect oneself against threats.
The publication includes a foreword by the Head of the Internal Security Agency, Col. Rafał Syrysko.
