On Monday, March 16, 2026, during a visit to Wojskowe Zakłady Uzbrojenia (WZU), a part of Polish Armaments Group (PGZ), Adam Leszkiewicz, President of the Management Board of the Polish Armaments Group, reviewed preparations for the implementation of an investment in the production of advanced components for the air and missile defense system.

As emphasized by PGZ, the investment is directly linked to WZU’s accession to the consortium of companies implementing strategic air defense system projects, including the short-range air defense missile systems (ZROP-KZ) under the codename Narew for the Polish Armed Forces.
WZU is a specialized missile defense technology plant with unquestioned experience and more than 65 years of tradition in the overhaul, modernization, and production of anti-aircraft and anti-missile equipment, as well as tube and rocket artillery.
The investment project, titled Adaptation of the infrastructure of Wojskowe Zakłady Uzbrojenia S.A. to increased production capacity for elements of missile defense systems, is being implemented on the basis of an agreement signed on January 12, 2026, between PGZ and WZU.
The investment is financed from funds originating from the Capital Investment Fund, in the amount of 198,400,000 PLN, and from WZU’s own funds, in the amount of 19,841,000 PLN. The agreement with the Ministry of State Assets on this matter was concluded on October 20, 2025.
The works at Wojskowe Zakłady Uzbrojenia in Grudziądz include the reconstruction of a building with an area of more than 5,000 square meters, the construction of a 2,000-square-meter hall for the preparation and painting of components, and the purchase of a 15,500-square-meter plot of land on which production and storage halls will be built. The investment also includes the purchase and installation of machinery.
The aim of the project is also to increase revenue and sales volume together with the development of the newly introduced product range, including the integrated iLauncher launcher, command cabins, and mobile workshops.

We are showing how the Polish defense industry is changing. We will do everything to keep moving forward,” said Konrad Golota, Deputy Minister of State Assets responsible for overseeing state-owned defense industry companies.
“Wojskowe Zakłady Uzbrojenia is one of our most important companies involved in the air and missile defense systems that are key to Poland’s security. The technological and development potential of WZU in Grudziądz is being used in the Narew and Wisła systems,” noted Adam Leszkiewicz, President of the Management Board of PGZ. “The Polish defense industry is above all about people, their skills, and their experience. It is in places such as Wojskowe Zakłady Uzbrojenia in Grudziądz that capabilities are created which strengthen the security of the state and build the future of our economy. The PGZ Group produces Polish security,” Leszkiewicz added.
