On Wednesday, February 11, 2026, the French company KNDS France (part of the Franco-German joint venture KNDS) and the Australian company EOS Defence Systems (a subsidiary of Electro Optic Systems) signed a Teeming Agreement to jointly develop remotely operated weapon stations (ROWS) for counter-unmanned aerial systems (C-UAS) applications.
The document was signed during the World Defense Show 2026 exhibition, held February 8–12 in Riyadh. KNDS France specializes in the design and production of medium-caliber automatic cannon systems, among other capabilities, while EOS Defence Systems focuses on remotely operated weapon stations (ROWS), weapon systems, and integrated counter-drone solutions.
Under the agreement, both parties will jointly pursue new business opportunities and strengthen cooperation in the field of ROWS systems for counter-unmanned aerial systems (C-UAS) applications. The agreement establishes a framework for collaboration in marketing and product development, enabling the two companies to combine their complementary expertise in armaments, remotely operated weapon stations, weapon systems, and integrated defense solutions.
“This teaming agreement reflects our shared commitment to respond to evolving operational requirements requesting high level medium caliber weapons in 30×113 caliber. KNDS proposes its ITAR-free 30M781-Multi Purpose Gun (30×113) dedicated to land and naval missions,” said Olivier Travert, Chief Sales Executive Officer of KNDS France.
The KNDS France ARX-30 NEROD remotely operated weapon station, equipped with a 30 mm 30M781 automatic cannon and autonomous detection systems, radar and a radio-frequency detector, for countering unmanned aerial vehicles.
“By combining EOS best-in-class Counter-drone systems with state-of-the art medium caliber weapons and vehicles from KNDS, this partnership will provide modern and ITAR free evolutive solutions for armed forces, in a constantly changing environment,” said Andreas Schwer CEO of EOS.
Under the agreement, the companies will cooperate to identify business opportunities in new markets and customer segments of mutual interest across the Middle East and North Africa, the Asia-Pacific region, and Europe, as well as to develop and implement joint marketing initiatives. The partnership will also enable the potential joint development of new products, including the integration of advanced weapon systems, technologies, and integrated solutions aligned with the core competencies of both firms, while remaining subject to ITAR (International Traffic in Arms Regulations), which strictly control the export, temporary import, manufacture, transfer, and sharing of U.S.-origin military technologies.
The agreement further supports the sharing of relevant intellectual property, technical know-how, and research results in order to accelerate the commercialization and deployment of jointly developed or jointly marketed solutions.
Two leaders. One shared objective: deliver ITAR-free, medium caliber firepower for evolving battlefields.
