On Tuesday, April 28, 2026, the Armament Agency published a notice on the launch of a tender procedure, conducted as a restricted procedure, for the supply of 64,515 rounds of 30 mm x 173 ammunition with TP training projectiles without tracer, or equivalent.

The deadline for submitting requests to participate in the tender will expire on June 11, 2026, at 09:00. The contract is to remain in force until October 31, 2029.
This is another attempt to purchase the ammunition in question, after the previous tender was canceled on April 17. Earlier, also without success, the Armament Agency intended to acquire 68,505 rounds of 30 mm x 173 TP training ammunition without tracer, or equivalent, in 2025–2029 (that is, 3,990 more rounds – editor’s note). The procedure was canceled on September 12, 2025.
The round in question was introduced into the Polish Armed Forces by Order No. 189 of the Chief of the Armed Forces Support Inspectorate, dated December 31, 2024.
Meanwhile, from September 1, 2025, the Armament Agency had been conducting a separate tender procedure for the supply of a total of 68,000 rounds of 30 mm x 173 practice ammunition. However, it was canceled on April 21 this year, as it was originally to be financed under the SAFE instrument but did not qualify for it. Earlier, in the summer of 2024, the agency conducted preliminary market consultations concerning the acquisition of practice and training ammunition for 30 mm Northrop Grumman ATK Mk 44/S Bushmaster II automatic cannons.
The Polish Armed Forces use Mk 44 Bushmaster II cannons in Leonardo OTO Melara Hitfist-30P turret systems on Rosomak wheeled armored personnel carriers, as well as the aforementioned Mk 44/S Bushmaster II cannons in ZSSW-30 turret systems on Rosomak wheeled infantry fighting vehicles, and subsequently on the Borsuk infantry fighting vehicle, the planned Heavy IFV, and possibly the new-generation Serwal wheeled armored personnel carrier.
