On Thursday, July 2, 2026, Hanwha Aerospace Europe (HAEU) of Warsaw (part of South Korean Hanwha Aerospace) announced that preparatory work has begun in Gorzów Wielkopolski related to the construction of a modern production facility for the Hanwha WB Advanced System joint venture. The investment represents the next stage in the development of industrial cooperation between Hanwha Aerospace and the Polish defense industry, as well as an important step in building domestic production capabilities in the area of advanced missile systems.

The first phase covers site preparation and earthworks preceding the start of the main construction work. The facility under construction will be responsible for the production of CGR-080 precision missiles with a range of up to 80 km for Homar-K artillery systems, in accordance with the assumptions of the third executive contract concluded under the program.
The investment, implemented by Hanwha WB Advanced System, a joint venture established by Hanwha Aerospace and WB Electronics (part of the WB Group), is one of the most significant projects related to production localization and technology transfer in the Polish defense sector.
The factory will be the first facility in Poland producing guided missiles of this class, providing the domestic industry with access to advanced technologies and creating a foundation for further development of competencies in the area of precision missile systems.
Construction of the facility will take several months. Upon completion, the factory will not only support the execution of the Homar-K program, but will also create new jobs and contribute to the development of a local ecosystem of companies and suppliers cooperating with the advanced technology sector.
The project is part of Hanwha Aerospace’s consistently pursued strategy of building long-term industrial partnerships and developing local production capabilities in Poland. The factory under construction will be a further element of the multi-year cooperation with the Polish defense industry, aimed not only at delivering modern weapons systems, but also at developing domestic technological and production competencies.
Previously, on March 31, WB Electronics signed a contract worth approximately 987.3 million PLN net (1.214 billion PLN gross) with Hanwha WB Advanced Systems for the supply of components for specialized (military) applications in 2029-2033.
On December 29, 2025, in Warsaw, a contract worth 14 billion PLN was signed for the production of 10,000 CGR-080 precision strike missiles with a range of 80 km for Homar-K multiple rocket launchers by the consortium of Hanwha WB Advanced Systems and Hanwha Aerospace. Deliveries are to begin in 2030 and conclude in 2033.
The Hanwha WB Advanced System joint venture was established in October 2025 under an agreement between the WB Group and Hanwha Aerospace dated September 2 of that year, concluded during the XXXIII MSPO in Kielce. It was preceded by a memorandum of understanding dated September 4, 2024 on local production in Poland, an agreement on missile ammunition production in Poland dated October 2, 2024, and a term sheet for the establishment and operation of the joint venture dated April 15, 2025.
Under the agreement, the CGR-080 missile ammunition production facility under discussion will be built in Gorzów Wielkopolski for 2 billion PLN, employing between 250 and 500 highly qualified workers, and will develop a roadmap for new types of missiles tailored to the future needs of the Polish Armed Forces and allied nations, in the first instance for K239 Chunmoo systems, such as those operated by Estonia and Norway.
The parties have not disclosed the scope of the technology transfer, but assure that it will not merely be assembly. The vast majority of CGR-080 missile components are to be manufactured in Poland.
On March 12 of this year, the Kostrzyn-Słubice Special Economic Zone submitted a building permit application for a facility covering 116 hectares (on a plot with a total area of 250 hectares), located at the level of Małyszyn in the northern part of Gorzów.
