On Tuesday, June 30, 2026, the Ministry of National Defence announced the Innovator’s Proving Ground initiative, implemented by the Military Institute of Armament Technology (WITU) from Zielonka.

Its goal is to accelerate the identification, testing, and implementation of innovative technological solutions for the needs of the Polish Armed Forces.The project creates
conditions for the early verification of new technologies, in particular in the area of unmanned weapons systems and solutions for countering such systems.
Innovator’s Proving Ground objectives:
- testing new solutions under conditions close to real-world environments;
- ensuring compliance with legal and regulatory requirements;
- documenting the course and results of tests;
- supporting rapid transition from the concept stage to implementation.
The initiative is part of the Ministry of National Defence’s activities aimed at accelerating the technical modernization of the Polish Armed Forces and broader utilization of the potential of the domestic innovation sector.
