On Tuesday, June 23, 2026, the first day of his official visit to the Republic of Turkey, President of the Republic of Poland and Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces Karol Nawrocki visited the facilities of state-owned defense company Aselsan Elektronik Sanayi ve Ticaret A.Ş. in Ankara.

The main item on the agenda of the two-day visit will be talks with Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan at the Presidential Complex in Ankara, which is significant ahead of the upcoming NATO Summit in Ankara on July 7-8 of this year.
The presidential visit was inaugurated with a wreath-laying ceremony at the Mausoleum of Mustafa Kemal Atatürk (Anıtkabir) – the resting place of the founder of the modern Turkish state – where the Polish delegation paid tribute to the historical heritage of the host country. In accordance with Turkish state protocol, all foreign and domestic delegations lay wreaths in the colors of the Turkish flag – red and white.
The Polish delegation then proceeded to the headquarters of the leading manufacturer of, among other things, electronic warfare (EW) systems, offering solutions across a wide range of domains, from underwater to outer space.
This is significant, as on December 19, 2025, the Armaments Agency of the Ministry of National Defense signed a contract with Aselsan worth approximately 2 billion PLN gross for the supply of the Automated Reconnaissance and Jamming System codenamed Kaktus, intended for electronic warfare operations (electronic surveillance, defense, and attack) by Electronic Warfare units at the tactical level. Details are classified, but it is likely the KORAL 200 electronic reconnaissance and warfare system. Deliveries of the system will be completed by 2035. It cannot be ruled out that such distant delivery timelines indicate the completion of additional research and testing at Polish facilities.
Aselsan is also a subcontractor of AMZ-Kutno in the Light Armored Reconnaissance Carrier (LOTR) program under the codename Kleszcz. The company supplies the ARSUS 100 compact reconnaissance system on a stabilized mast, combining a long-range radar with an EO/IR electro-optical turret for day and night operation, and an inertial navigation system, used for target detection, identification, automatic tracking, and real-time streaming of video, audio, and data.
On Wednesday, the second day of the visit, the President of the Republic of Poland will visit İncirlik Air Base, part of the city of Adana in southern Turkey, which plays an important role in the structures of the North Atlantic Alliance (where the Americans store B61-12 thermonuclear bombs under the NATO Nuclear Sharing program, in which Poland has expressed interest in joining), which will be an opportunity to meet with military personnel of the Polish Military Contingent Turkey.
