On Friday, October 24, 2025, Bank Gospodarstwa Krajowego (BGK) and the Polish Armaments Group (PGZ) signed an agreement to provide bank guarantees worth 1 billion PLN. This is the first agreement under the cooperation announced during the 33rd International Defence Industry Exhibition (MSPO 2025) at Targi Kielce (Day Three Highlights for the Polish Armaments Group at MSPO 2025).
“The guarantees for PGZ are concrete tools that strengthen the production capabilities of the Polish defense industry and accelerate the implementation of key modernization programs of the Polish Armed Forces. At the same time, bank guarantees protect the interests of the State Treasury, enable contractors to safely start production, and reduce the costs of contract execution,” said Professor Marta Postuła, First Vice President of BGK.
The guarantee line will secure the contractual obligations of PGZ companies – from the tender stage, through production, to after-sales service. It will also facilitate obtaining the guarantees required for concluding contracts for the supply of military equipment carried out as part of the modernization of the Polish Armed Forces.
Bank Gospodarstwa Krajowego is the only development bank in Poland and a key partner of the state in financing national defense. Its mission is to mobilize and effectively utilize public and private capital to support the country’s security and strategic economic development. BGK is also a financial partner for companies in the defense sector – it provides bank guarantees, offers debt financing, operates the Armed Forces Support Fund, and supports investments that strengthen the potential of the Polish defense industry.
“The Polish Armaments Group is rapidly expanding its production capacity and executing an increasing number of long-term contracts aimed at strengthening the country’s defense system. To meet these challenges, not only modern technological infrastructure is needed, but also financial stability and access to capital. It is also important for us that the funds entrusted to us by the state are managed in cooperation with a trusted institution experienced in defense financing. Providing such support is possible thanks to our cooperation with BGK – our strategic financial partner,” emphasizes Marcin Idzik, Vice President of the Management Board of PGZ.
The Polish Armaments Group is the largest capital group in Poland’s defense industry, bringing together several dozen production, service, and research and development facilities. It supplies the Polish Armed Forces and the armies of allied countries with modern weapons systems – including air defense systems, artillery and rocket systems, radars, armored personnel carriers, small arms, and battlefield support technologies. PGZ is the main contractor of the Narew program and a strategic partner of the state in the technical modernization of the Polish Armed Forces.
