The third day of the Kielce trade fair was also marked by numerous industry events. During the debate organized by the Polish Armaments Group and the Defense Portal, entitled The Role of the Domestic Defense Industry in the Development of the Polish Air Force, Vice President Piotr Zawieja spoke about the preparations of PGZ companies for the servicing and maintenance of modern weapon systems being introduced into the Armed Forces:
“Our plants are acquiring new competencies. We are not waiting idly for the equipment to arrive. For example, in the case of AH-64E Apache attack helicopters, Military Aviation Works No. 1 in Łódź is already preparing for the transfer and absorption of technology. The WZL No. 1 branch in Dęblin will soon be servicing turbine engines for Abrams tanks,” said Piotr Zawieja, Vice President of the Management Board.
Meanwhile, during the debate Defence24: Technology Transfer as the Foundation of the Future of the Polish Defense Industry, Jan Grabowski, Vice President of the Management Board of the Polish Armaments Group, spoke about technology transfer to the Group’s companies, citing the Narew and Miecznik programs as examples. He also pointed out the need to structure agreements in such a way that they do not impose export restrictions in the long term:
“The Rosomak is an excellent, proven vehicle, but the licensing agreement never gave us production sovereignty. The agreement for Narew allows us to export,” emphasized Vice President Grabowski.
A press briefing dedicated to naval projects was also held on the stage of the Polish Armaments Group, with the participation of Jan Grabowski, Vice President of PGZ; Marcin Ryngwelski, President of PGZ Naval Shipyard; Marcin Wiśniewski, President of OBR CTM; Grzegorz Sowa from the PGZ Development Department; and Piotr Jaszczura, Director of the Miecznik Program Office.
