Technical data and course of the operation:
The module under construction is 84 meters long, 48 meters wide, and 19 meters high, with a weight of 3,500 metric tons.
Self-propelled modular transporters (SPMTs) are being used to move the module. The multi-axle units allow for the controlled and precise maneuvering of the multi-tonne load on the quay.
The operation is being carried out using a specialized high-capacity pontoon. After the module is rolled onto the deck, the pontoon is towed to the appropriate depth and subjected to controlled submersion until the structure achieves buoyancy. The entire process will take several dozen hours.
The work is being coordinated by a team of engineers from Szczecin Shipyard “Wulkan,” in cooperation with specialized external partners, using the facilities and infrastructure of the shipyard quays.
It should be recalled that the first module of the new floating dock was launched on Sunday, April 19 of this year (Poland: Dock Launched at Szczecin Shipyard Wulkan).
