This is an important milestone in the implementation of an investment project that, after years of setbacks, has clearly accelerated and entered a stage of visible results. Once completed, it will be the largest floating dock in the Baltic Sea basin and will be significant for further strengthening the shipbuilding industry’s potential in Western Pomerania.

Due to the unit’s enormous size, the launching process has been divided into three stages. The Shipyard intends to launch the first two modules still in April, while the final one will be launched after its construction is completed. Placing such a large unit on the water is an undertaking requiring precise coordination of technical and logistical activities by several companies from the maritime industry, from both the state and private sectors.
Good cooperation among the teams involved in the implementation of this project contributed to the successful completion of the launching operation for the first part of the dock. This is an important milestone for the entire investment, confirming the effectiveness of the adopted solutions and the construction model chosen by Szczecin Shipyard “Wulkan.”
“We are consistently implementing an investment that is of great importance both for the future of our shipyard and for the entire maritime sector in Szczecin. Thanks to the good coordination of work by specialists at our shipyard and many cooperating companies, we have completed another major stage of this project. It can be said directly that today the dock has taken real shape, and its first module has been safely launched,” said Radosław Kowalczyk, President of Szczecin Shipyard “Wulkan.”
The new dock will be the largest unit of its type in the Baltic Sea region. The implementation of this investment is an important element in strengthening the potential of Szczecin’s shipyards and Szczecin’s role as one of the key centers of the maritime economy in northern Europe. Although the investment has been underway for many years, work has clearly accelerated over the past year. According to the current schedule, the fully functional dock is to be completed in mid-2027.
