On Thursday, August 14, 2025, at 2:00 p.m., in the courtyard of the Belweder Palace, on the eve of the Polish Armed Forces Day, the President of the Republic of Poland and Commander-in-Chief of the Polish Armed Forces, Karol Nawrocki, at the request of Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of National Defence Władysław Kosiniak-Kamysz, promoted eight officers of the Polish Armed Forces to the rank of general. The officers received their appointment certificates from the President, while the Minister of National Defence presented them with honorary maces and general’s rings. The nominations were announced yesterday in the late afternoon.

The ceremony was also attended by Deputy Ministers of Defence Paweł Bejda and Stanisław Wziątek, members of the senior leadership of the Ministry of National Defence, the command staff of the Polish Armed Forces, the Head of the National Security Bureau, Prof. Sławomir Cenckiewicz, along with his deputies Gen. Andrzej Kowalski and Gen. Mirosław Bryś, as well as Secretary of State and Deputy Chief of the Chancellery of the President of the Republic of Poland Adam Andruszkiewicz, and Undersecretary of State and Presidential Spokesman Rafał Leśkiewicz.
“The Polish Armed Forces Day is a holiday of every Polish soldier, but it is also a celebration of our entire national community. It is the holiday of the whole nation, which today and tomorrow stands in gratitude to Polish soldiers for the fact that we can live in an independent, free, and sovereign Poland, a Poland of peace. For our peace and sovereignty, I would like to thank all soldiers. (…) I thank the generals for your remarkable life and professional path, for the immense value you represent for the Republic of Poland. Your promotions are proof of the value you bring to Poland. (…) I would also like to thank your families,” said President Karol Nawrocki during the ceremony.
“A wonderful ceremony on the eve of the Polish Armed Forces Day, a moment to honor the soldier, his path, his career, and his family. It is a moment of recognition for each of these officers by every Pole and by Poland itself. We are very proud of you. (…) Thanks to you, Poland is safe and able to grow,” said Deputy Prime Minister Władysław Kosiniak-Kamysz during the presentation of the general officer promotions.

Promoted to the rank of Major General of the Polish Armed Forces were:
- Brigadier General Mirosław Polakow – Deputy Chief of Staff at the Supreme Headquarters Allied Powers Europe (SHAPE), Allied Command Operations (ACO);
- Brigadier General Adam Rzeczkowski – Director of the Armed Forces Command and Control Department at the National Security Bureau (BBN);
- Brigadier General Krzysztof Zielski – Deputy Chief of the General Staff of the Polish Armed Forces (SG WP).
Promoted to the rank of Brigadier General of the Polish Armed Forces were:
- Colonel Norbert Chojnacki – Commander of the 2nd Tactical Air Wing,
- Colonel Mariusz Kubarek – Deputy Director of the Operations Center of the Ministry of National Defence,
- Colonel Mieczysław Malec – Head of the NATO Operations Division – Deputy Polish Military Representative to the NATO and EU Military Committees,
- Colonel Wacław Samocik – Commander of the 2nd Mechanized Brigade.
