On Monday, February 16, 2026, the Polish National Police announced on social media that a Moldovan citizen had been detained after causing the emergency stop of a freight train operating on the Szczecin–Dorohusk route.

Today, shortly before 4:00 p.m., at the railway station in Puławy, police officers on duty as part of Operation TOR detained a 25-year-old Moldovan citizen.
The man was arrested after he activated the handbrake in a freight wagon of a train operating on the Szczecin–Dorohusk route.
At the time of the arrest, the 25-year-old was located between the train cars.
Officers at the scene found that the suspect was carrying a bag containing, among other items, mobile phones, electronic equipment, SIM cards, a power bank, and documents in Russian.
The National Public Prosecutor’s Office, the Military Counterintelligence Service, the Internal Security Agency delegation office, and the Central Police Investigation Bureau were notified of the incident.
Police officers from the Voivodeship Police Headquarters in Lublin are also present at the scene. Investigative activities are ongoing.
The officers who carried out the intervention were serving as part of Operation TOR together with a soldier of the Territorial Defence Forces and an officer of the Railway Protection Guard.
