On Thursday, 5 March 2026, Nitro-Chem Chemical Works, Mesko and ZM Dezamet, companies within the Polish Armaments Group (PGZ), took part in a round-table meeting in Brussels focused on increasing the production of 155 mm ammunition and on continued support for Ukraine.

Nitro-Chem Chemical Works was represented by Vice President of the Management Board Karol Przybyszewski; Mesko was represented by Management Board member Marcin Ożóg; and ZM Dezamet was represented by President of the Management Board Dariusz Szlęzak. The meeting brought together representatives of the defense industry, EU institutions and partners responsible for initiatives aimed at strengthening Europe’s production capabilities in the field of artillery ammunition.
“Taking part in this meeting was an important opportunity for us to present the industry’s real capabilities and to discuss the barriers we must overcome together. At Nitro-Chem, we are ready to further develop our production capacity and actively contribute to building a strong, integrated European defense industry,” emphasized Karol Przybyszewski, Vice President of the Management Board of Nitro-Chem Chemical Works.
The main focus of the talks was 155 mm ammunition, recognised as a key priority in light of Europe’s current security challenges. The discussion centered on ensuring a balance between growing demand and actual production capabilities, identifying barriers and bottlenecks in supply chains, and the expected support from the European Commission.

Marcin Ożóg, a member of Mesko’s Management Board, noted that thanks to the company’s investment efforts, Mesko increased production by 100% year on year (2025 at Mesko: A Record-Breaking Year of Investment and Global Contracts).
“One of the key pillars of our further development is the expansion of our facility producing propellant and modular charges dedicated to this ammunition. The project is being carried out in cooperation with a European partner that is a leader in the production of propellant and modular charges in Europe. This investment will help strengthen Europe’s strategic autonomy in the area of large-caliber ammunition components and reduce dependence on supplies from outside the European Union.
Mesko should also be credited with having developed and produced, alongside its Ukrainian partners, advanced 155 mm Precision-Guided Munition (PGM), in addition to conventional 155 mm ammunition, which ensures it meets the requirements of today’s most demanding combat environments,” Ożóg added.
The participation of the three Polish Armaments Group (PGZ) companies in the discussions underscores their active commitment to developing the European defense industry and their readiness to further expand production capacity for 155 mm ammunition. The Brussels meeting was also an important step toward deeper industrial cooperation and accelerating the integration of Ukraine’s defense sector with the European Union’s defense industry.
