Renata Gruszczyńska, President of the Management Board of Mesko:
“The year 2025 confirmed that Mesko’s consistently executed strategy delivers tangible results – both financial and technological. We strengthened the company’s production potential, completed key investments, and reinforced our position in international markets. It was a year that translated directly into increased security for Poland.”
January – Record Financial Results
Mesko began 2025 by announcing outstanding financial results for 2024. The company’s revenues exceeded 1.6 billion PLN, representing an increase of more than 80% year-on-year. Net profit surpassed 230 million PLN. In percentage terms, net profit in the second half of 2024 – the period following the formation of the company’s new management board – increased by nearly 370% compared to the first half of 2024, and by 290% compared to 2023. These figures confirm the company’s financial stability and the effectiveness of its management.
February – The 3,000th Piorun Unit
In February, during a press conference at Mesko, the production of the 3,000th Piorun man-portable air defense system (MANPADS) was announced. The Piorun has become a symbol of the effectiveness of Polish engineering and one of the company’s most recognizable export products. Renata Gruszczyńska, President of Mesko’s Management Board, stated that the company is steadily expanding its missile production capabilities. Today, Mesko is the largest manufacturer of MANPADS-class solutions among NATO member states. In this product category, the company produces more missiles annually than the combined yearly output of the U.S. defense industry (FIM-92 Stinger missiles) and France (Mistral missiles) (The 3,000th Piorun Man-Portable Air-Defense System, manufactured by Mesko).
March – Golden Statue of the Leader of Polish Business
During the Grand Gala of the Leaders of Polish Business, organized by the Business Centre Club (BCC), Mesko was honored with the Golden Statue of the Leader of Polish Business. The award was received by Renata Gruszczyńska, President of the Management Board.
“This distinction is proof of the market’s trust in Mesko as a stable and responsible business partner. The award granted by the BCC confirms that the actions we have undertaken across many areas are steering the company in the right direction. This recognition motivates us to work even harder,” emphasized the company’s CEO.
April – Contract with the Armament Agency
On April 30, Mesko signed a contract with the Armament Agency for the delivery of thousands of rounds of 30 mm medium-caliber ammunition for the Polish Armed Forces. The contract significantly strengthened the domestic supply capacity of the Polish Armed Forces, enhancing national ammunition self-sufficiency.
May – Piorun Systems for Belgium
In May, during a meeting of the defense ministers of Poland and Belgium in Skarżysko-Kamienna, a letter of intent was signed regarding Belgium’s planned purchase of 200–300 Piorun MANPADS systems. This marked another step in strengthening the export position of Mesko. The event was attended by Władysław Kosiniak-Kamysz, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of National Defense of Poland. The agreement was approved in July, and in December of the same year the company completed the first delivery tranche of the product to Belgium (Polish Piorun MANPADS (officially) in Belgium, Belgium Approves Purchase of Piorun MANPADS, Poland and Belgium Strengthen Ties Amid Piorun Missile Deal).
On May 30, a contract was signed at the Armament Agency for the delivery of thousands of 120 mm tank ammunition rounds. The agreement, concluded between the State Treasury – Armament Agency and Mesko, covers the supply of thousands of 120 × 570 mm rounds fitted with APFSDS-T sub-caliber projectiles. The contract is valued at approximately 150 million PLN gross, with deliveries scheduled for 2026–2027 (Poland: Contract for Thousands of APFSDS-T Tank Rounds Signed with Mesko).
June – New Small-Caliber Ammunition Production Hall
One of the key moments of the year was the official opening of a modern small-caliber ammunition production hall in Skarżysko-Kamienna. The investment increased the company’s production capacity from 50 million to 250 million rounds per year. The event was attended by Donald Tusk, Prime Minister of Poland.
The modern facility, covering more than 4,000 square meters, is equipped with four fully automated production lines that handle the entire technological process involved in cartridge assembly—from cases and primers to projectiles and propellant. Thanks to this investment, Mesko is now capable of producing up to one million rounds of ammunition per working day.
Marcin Ożóg, Member of the Management Board of Mesko, stated:
“This is an investment that strengthens supply chain sovereignty and provides real security for our country. We are proud that Mesko’s development directly translates into enhanced security for Poland. This success would not have been possible without the hard work and expertise of our team.” (Project 400: Polish company Mesko has increased its small-caliber ammunition production capacity fivefold).
July – Strategic Funding Secured
The company secured 887.2 million PLN in funding to modernize its facility in Kraśnik, enabling a significant increase in the production of 155 mm ammunition bodies. This forms part of a broader plan developed by Polish Armaments Group (PGZ), which received more than 2.4 billion PLN in funding from the Capital Investment Fund. Thanks to funds allocated to four companies within the ammunition domain, further expansion will be possible, including the construction of new infrastructure and technological lines. This will implement the concept of establishing three ammunition factories within PGZ, substantially increasing production capacity for materials and munitions, particularly the currently critical 155 mm caliber ammunition (Polish Armaments Group with a concept for building three ammunition factories).
Krzysztof Marwicki, Member of the Management Board of Mesko, stated:
“Kraśnik is becoming one of the key points on the map of European artillery ammunition production. The investment in Kraśnik not only increases our company’s production capabilities, but also delivers a tangible boost to the entire domestic defense industry. We are building technological and production independence in the area of strategic ammunition for the Polish Armed Forces. This project is part of a broader strategy to localize the supply chain and build end-to-end production capabilities within Poland.”
August – Strategic Cooperation
Mesko signed an agreement with the French company Eurenco for the supply of high-quality energetic nitrocellulose. The agreement marks a breakthrough in Mesko’s long-standing efforts to secure a stable and independent source of critical components required for defense production. The new contract with Eurenco goes beyond a purely commercial arrangement – it represents a real strengthening of supply security for both the Polish and European defense industries (Eurenco and Mesko strengthen strategic partnershipwith long-term energetic nitrocellulose supply agreement).
September – MSPO and International Recognition
During MSPO 2025, the Mesko booth was visited by Donald Tusk, Prime Minister of Poland, while strong interest in the company’s portfolio reaffirmed its global market position. Mesko also received a Special Award from the Minister of Finance and Economy for Best Polish Arms Exporter.
At the same time, on the first day of the London-based defense and security exhibition DSEI 2025, a contract worth approximately 3 billion SEK (around 1.16 billion PLN at the time) was signed between Mesko and Försvarets materielverk (FMV), the defense procurement authority of the Ministry of Defence of Sweden, for the delivery of Piorun man-portable air defense systems (DSEI 2025: Sweden becomes the next user of the Piorun MANPADS from Mesko).
October – CIT Milestone and 155 mm Investment
Mesko ranked among the 100 largest corporate income tax (CIT) payers in Poland, contributing 72.1 million PLN in tax revenue. At the same time, Polish Armaments Group (PGZ) and Mesko signed two strategic agreements with the French company Eurenco covering the acquisition of modular charge production technologies and the securing of supplies of key raw materials required for their manufacture (Polish Armaments Group, Mesko, and Eurenco sign strategic agreements).
A time capsule was laid at Mesko’s facility in Kraśnik, formally inaugurating the expansion of infrastructure for 155 mm ammunition production, with a target capacity of 180,000 shell bodies per year.
The Kraśnik investment includes the expansion and modernization of a production hall to approximately 9,000 m², construction of new technological and warehouse infrastructure, the purchase of modern machinery and production lines, upgrades to existing facilities, and revitalization of industrial areas. Completion of construction works and commissioning of the full production lines are scheduled for 2027 (Poland: Kraśnik breaks ground on 155 mm artillery ammunition plant, Kraśnik – the Heart of Polish Artillery: How 155 mm Ammunition Shell Bodies Are Produced by Mesko in Kraśnik)
November – Regional Awards
During the Nowa Energia Kielce 2025 Regional Economic Forum, Mesko was awarded the title of SUPERLEADER of the Region and placed in the prestigious Top Ten of the Świętokrzyskie Voivodeship’s “Golden Hundred”, reaffirming its role not only as an economic powerhouse but also as a socially responsible regional leader.
December – Breakthrough Decision and Major Investment
In December, a decision was taken to grant the company support under a new corporate income tax (CIT) exemption mechanism for the defense sector. Mesko, as the first company within the PGZ, received a tax exemption worth approximately 174.6 million PLN, which will be allocated in full to further investments and technological development (Poland: Mesko Becomes the First Defense Company to Benefit from the New CIT Exemption).
Also in December, a new WNL building was commissioned at Mesko’s facility in Pionki. This marked one of the most important milestones in the implementation of Project 400, a strategic investment strengthening national capabilities in the production of ammunition and high-energy components. The project significantly increases the potential of the PGZ subsidiary in the area of tank and artillery ammunition, including 120 mm and 155 mm calibers, and establishes new competencies in the assembly of modular charges.
“2025 confirmed that Mesko is at a pivotal moment in its development – combining record financial performance, dynamic investment, and strong international expansion, the company has become one of the most important players in the Polish defense industry,” emphasized Renata Gruszczyńska, President of Mesko’s Management Board.
Preliminary financial data for 2025 indicate that the company will exceed 2 billion PLN in revenue.
Conferences and Debates
An important aspect of Mesko’s activities in 2025 was the active participation of company representatives in industry debates, expert conferences, and professional forums focused on security and the development of the defense industry. Mesko representatives shared their knowledge and experience by taking part in discussions on technologies, production capabilities, and the challenges facing the defense sector. At the same time, the company continued its long-standing tradition of study visits to its facilities, hosting, among others, future Polish defense attachés, students of the War Studies University, cadets from military academies, and young people – thereby strengthening educational and expert ties with institutions forming part of the national security system.
Social Responsibility
In 2025, Mesko consistently pursued activities in the field of corporate social responsibility, reaffirming its role not only as a key player in the defense economy but also as one of the largest employers in the Świętokrzyskie region. Employing more than 3,200 people, the company conducted intensive recruitment processes and expanded cooperation with technical universities, vocational schools, and labor market institutions. At the same time, Mesko actively supported social, sports, and charitable initiatives. A special place was also given to grassroots employee initiatives, including the activities of the Honorary Blood Donors Club, the annual ONKOPACZKA charity campaign, assistance for those in need, and participation in nationwide aid initiatives.
