On Saturday, May 30, 2026, at Zakłady Metalowe Dezamet in Nowa Dęba, part of Polish Armaments Group (PGZ), an agreement worth over 13.5 billion PLN was signed between the PGZ-Amunicja Consortium and the State Treasury – Armament Agency for the supply of 155 mm artillery ammunition, financed under the SAFE (Security Action for Europe) loan program.

The agreement, concluded between the State Treasury – Armament Agency and the PGZ-Amunicja Consortium, comprising Polish Armaments Group as the leader, Zakłady Metalowe Dezamet, Mesko, Zakłady Chemiczne Nitro-Chem, Zakład Produkcji Specjalnej Gamrat, and Bydgoskie Zakłady Elektromechaniczne Belma, covers the delivery of a total of several hundred thousand 155 mm live artillery rounds.
The agreement was signed in the presence of Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of National Defense Władysław Kosiniak-Kamysz, Government Plenipotentiary for the Security Action for Europe Instrument Magdalena Sobkowiak-Czarnecka, Deputy Minister of State Assets Konrad Gołota, PGZ First Vice President Arkadiusz Bąk, and representatives of the Armament Agency.
„I am very proud that here at Dezamet we are signing a huge agreement for the implementation of the National Ammunition Reserve, a resolution adopted by the previous government, which did nothing with that resolution, did not buy any ammunition for the Polish military. It did not purchase any production capacity and did not build those capacities for the production of 155 mm ammunition,” Władysław Kosiniak-Kamysz said during the signing of the artillery ammunition agreement at Zakłady Metalowe Dezamet.
„For ammunition factories to be able to operate, orders are needed. And we secured the money. We are here as part of this team on a tour around Poland. This is the ‘Tour de SAFE,’ which is a marker of our security and has been underway for three days. It has been underway since Thursday. We are now in Podkarpackie with Minister Sobkowiak-Czarnecka, who created an incredible team that led to the signing of the agreement and to its implementation today. With Minister Gołota, who is building the strength of the Polish defense industry; with General Artur Kuptel, who for many years has consistently conducted procurement policy for the Polish Army in the best and most reliable way; with President Bąk, who is implementing this at PGZ; and with the management of Dezamet, all employees, members of parliament, and the authorities of Podkarpackie Voivodeship,” the deputy prime minister said.
Another agreement for the acquisition of 155 mm ammunition is a consequence of implementing the objectives of the long-term “National Ammunition Reserve” program, established by Resolution No. 43 of the Council of Ministers of March 29, 2023. The implementation of the concluded contracts is intended to create conditions for the Polish Armed Forces to rapidly achieve the required capabilities in tube artillery. Another very important aspect is the development and maintenance of the planned production potential for artillery ammunition in the Polish defense industry.
„I am very proud that once again we are proving that nothing is impossible for us, that we keep our word, that we are reliable, and that we deliver. We are building a safe, strong Poland. This is an order for hundreds of thousands of 155 mm ammunition rounds, the ammunition behind me. The ammunition that is manufactured in Polish defense plants,” the head of the Ministry of National Defense added.
„Over the next few hours, we will sign 29 agreements worth 78 billion PLN. I hope everyone already knows that Poland is the largest beneficiary of the SAFE mechanism. But in just one day, we will sign agreements worth as much as the SAFE allocation in several member states. No country in the European Union has an entire SAFE package as large as the one we are spending today in a single day. 78 billion PLN in just one day. Today in Podkarpackie. I am very pleased, because this is a place often visited by our opponents, the same people who protested so loudly in the Sejm against the SAFE mechanism,” emphasized Magdalena Sobkowiak-Czarnecka, Government Plenipotentiary for the Security Action for Europe Instrument, who took part in the event.
