Russian-Ukrainian overnight exchange of strikes

During the night of July 29–30, the Armed Forces of Ukraine carried out further strikes against targets in Russia, which responded with a large-scale missile and drone attack against Ukraine that also resulted in a violation of Polish airspace.

On Thursday, July 30, 2026, the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine reported on social media that further strikes had been carried out against targets in the Russian Federation as part of efforts to reduce the aggressor’s military and economic potential.

The statement also confirmed yesterday’s strike on the Lukoil-Permnefteorgsintez Oil Refinery in Perm, in Russia’s Perm region. The facility processes more than 13 million tonnes of crude oil annually, producing a wide range of products, including high-quality gasoline, diesel fuel, aviation kerosene, and lubricants. It is a key industrial facility in the region and one of the most technologically advanced refineries in the country, supplying fuel to both domestic and export markets.

Ukrainian forces also struck the Primorsky Posad training range in the occupied part of the Zaporizhzhia region. The extent of the damage is currently being assessed.

At the same time, reports emerged of drone strikes on additional logistics centers operated by the Russian company Wildberries in Penza, the capital of the Penza region, and Sarapul in Udmurtia, as well as on a loading berth at the Tamanneftegaz oil terminal in Russia’s Krasnodar region.

At the same time, the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine reported another large-scale missile and drone attack against the country. Beginning at 6:00 p.m. local time yesterday, Russian forces launched:

  • 4 3M22 Tsirkon hypersonic missiles/P-800 Oniks/Yakhont anti-ship missiles from the Kursk region;
  • 9 Iskander-M/KN-23 ballistic missiles/S-400 surface-to-air missiles from the Bryansk, Voronezh, and Kursk regions;
  • 61 Kh-101/Kalibr cruise missiles from strategic bombers operating over the Vologda region and from the naval port of Novorossiysk;
  • 284 Geran/Shahed unmanned aircraft, including jet-powered Geran-3/4 variants, as well as Gerbera and Italmas drones and various types of decoy drones, including Parodiya, launched from the directions of Bryansk, Kursk, Oryol, and Shatalovo in Russia.

The Kyiv and Lviv regions were the main targets of the attack. The Dnipropetrovsk, Sumy, Vinnytsia, Poltava, Mykolaiv, and Ivano-Frankivsk regions were also targeted. A distinctive feature of the large-scale attack was the simultaneous use of different types of aerial weapons from multiple directions, including large numbers of ballistic and cruise missiles.

The attack was repelled by Ukrainian Armed Forces aviation, air-defense missile units, electronic warfare units, unmanned systems units, and mobile air-defense groups.

According to preliminary data, by 9:00 a.m. local time, air-defense systems had shot down or suppressed 320 targets, including one Iskander-M/KN-23/S-400 missile, 54 Kh-101/Kalibr cruise missiles, and 265 unmanned aircraft. Impacts by three Tsirkon/P-800 Oniks/Yakhont missiles, six Iskander-M/KN-23/S-400 missiles, two Kh-101/Kalibr cruise missiles, and 17 unmanned aircraft were recorded at 20 locations, while drone debris fell at 13 locations. At the time of publication, information concerning eight missiles was still being clarified, while several unmanned aircraft remained in Ukrainian airspace.

One F-16AM multirole combat aircraft was lost during the defensive operation, while one missile, probably a Kh-101, violated Polish airspace and crashed near Tarnawa-Kolonia in the Lublin region.

President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy:

Yesterday evening, a Russian missile strike on Radushne in the Dnipropetrovsk region killed two parents and their three children. Two other children were pulled alive from beneath the rubble. It was an ordinary home, shattered to pieces by a ballistic missile… Rescue operations are also continuing in Lviv at the site where a residential building was hit. Debris is being cleared and the search for people is ongoing. So far, eight fatalities have been reported across the country. My condolences go to their families and loved ones… Dozens of people have been injured, and all are receiving the necessary medical care. All relevant services are involved.

Kyiv and the Kyiv region, as well as the Dnipropetrovsk, Lviv, Poltava, Kharkiv, Mykolaiv, Sumy, Vinnytsia, Cherkasy, and Ivano-Frankivsk regions, came under attack overnight. Dozens of ordinary homes, civilian businesses, and infrastructure facilities were destroyed or damaged. More than 70 missiles were used in the attack, a significant number of them ballistic missiles. More than 280 strike drones were also launched. Over 260 drones were shot down. Our combat aircraft intercepted a significant number of cruise missiles, while even mobile fire teams managed to shoot down cruise missiles. Given the critical shortage of air-defense missiles supplied by our partners, our warriors are accomplishing truly remarkable feats and demonstrating an extremely high level of professionalism. This exceptional skill saves lives when air-defense missiles are not delivered or their deliveries are delayed.

This Russian terror once again proves that protection against the Russian missile threat is the most important task when it comes to saving the lives of our people. It is not a task that can be left to Ukraine alone or to any single country. All our partners know how and with what they can help. Delayed assistance and delays in the delivery of anti-ballistic missiles lead to the kind of destruction and loss of life that we are unfortunately witnessing today. Supporting the protection of human life is essential. I thank everyone who is truly helping!

Rescue operation in Lviv:

Ukrainian Ministry of Internal Affairs:

Rescue operations are still underway in Lviv and the Dnipropetrovsk region. We have information that people may remain trapped beneath the rubble. Interior Minister Ivan Vyhivskyi provided the details. Russia’s overnight attack on Ukraine killed eight people.

More than 50 people were injured. In the Kryvyi Rih area, an ordinary private home occupied by a large family was hit directly. Six people were killed, including three children: a six-year-old girl and boys aged 11 and 17.

At least eight people were injured, including two children. We have preliminary information that several people are missing, and all necessary units are making every effort to find them. Identification of recovered human remains is also underway.

Five people were injured in the Kyiv region. They were also members of the same family. Thanks to the rapid response of rescuers, three people were pulled from beneath the rubble. They are now receiving all necessary assistance.

The attack caused extensive damage to apartment buildings in Lviv. Dozens of people were injured, including children. A police officer and a rescuer were also injured. Floor structures collapsed, and we deployed high-reach equipment to evacuate residents.

Thirty-nine people have already been rescued. A mobile service center operated by the Ministry of Internal Affairs is also working at the impact site, allowing residents to quickly replace lost documents.

One person was killed and two were injured in Kyiv as a result of the enemy attack. Rescuers have extinguished fires that engulfed a market and a garage cooperative. Investigators from the National Police of Ukraine are documenting another Russian crime.

Every large-scale attack brings tragedy and suffering to dozens of families. Units of the Ministry of Internal Affairs system – rescuers, investigators, explosive ordnance specialists, patrol officers, psychologists, medical personnel, canine teams, and public service staff – are always close at hand.
