On Monday, August 24, 2026, US company Quantum-Systems Inc., part of Germany’s Quantum Systems, announced the opening of a new 3,200-square-foot (approximately 290 m²) engineering and research and development office in Huntsville, Alabama. Located in Upland Park, adjacent to Cummings Research Park – the second-largest research park in the United States – the new office strengthens the company’s proximity to key defense-sector customers while expanding its engineering capabilities in the US.

Quantum-Systems Inc. provides combat-proven unmanned systems supporting US and allied armed forces, including for intelligence, surveillance, target acquisition and reconnaissance (ISTAR) missions. The company’s deep-tech approach draws on expertise in aerodynamics, flight control, computer vision, autonomy, cloud infrastructure, simulation and manufacturing engineering, enabling the development of next-generation unmanned systems driven by operational requirements.
The new Huntsville office supports this model by placing engineering and R&D resources closer to defense-sector customers and partners. This proximity enables direct collaboration, the integration of operational feedback and accelerated development of mission-relevant capabilities, while also contributing to the growth of the region’s aerospace and defense innovation ecosystem.

The Huntsville office is already operational and will support engineering development, customer collaboration and the continued advancement of the company’s next-generation unmanned intelligence systems.
