On Monday, April 27, 2026, the Territorial Defence Forces Command (DWOT) and ORLEN signed an agreement that will strengthen the security of the company’s critical infrastructure and its readiness to operate in demanding conditions. The cooperation is based on training, educational initiatives, and the exchange of experience, addressing the key challenge of effectively protecting production assets.

The agreement covers the development of training cooperation and the preparation of Territorial Defence Forces soldiers and ORLEN employees for joint action in various operational situations. An important element is also strengthening public awareness and promoting responsibility for security.
In practice, this means joint training and exercises, including military preparedness classes for ORLEN employees. In addition, selected company installations will be made available for workshops, allowing training to be conducted in conditions close to real-life scenarios.
“Protecting critical infrastructure is one of the key elements of the state security system. Cooperation with ORLEN enables the Territorial Defence Forces to improve their operational capabilities in the environment of real infrastructure facilities and to build an effective model of cooperation with a strategic partner in the energy sector,” emphasized Maj. Gen. Krzysztof Stańczyk, PhD, Commander of the Territorial Defence Forces.
“Poland’s security and stable energy supplies are inseparably linked. We take responsibility not only for business development, but also for strengthening the country’s resilience. Our employees play an important role in this – their knowledge, commitment, and readiness to act. Cooperation with the Territorial Defence Forces will allow us to develop their competencies and translate them into concrete results, genuinely increasing the security of our infrastructure,” said Ireneusz Fąfara, President of the Management Board and CEO of ORLEN.
The Territorial Defence Forces and ORLEN will also exchange knowledge and provide mutual competence-based support. ORLEN will enable the Territorial Defence Forces to conduct information and recruitment activities among employees, supporting the development of the formation and social engagement.
The agreement reflects a systemic approach to building state resilience and creates a lasting framework for cooperation between the defense potential of the Armed Forces of the Republic of Poland and the resources, infrastructure, and competencies of a strategic entity in the energy sector. This cooperation enables the effective use of the complementary capabilities of both parties, strengthening the protection of key facilities and the ability to respond to crisis situations.
The partnership, which will also include educational initiatives and events for local communities, will help increase public awareness and promote a comprehensive approach to the security system, based on cooperation between public administration, the military, the economy, and civil society.
