The procedure concerned overhaul services for 30 UTD-20 765-01Z2 W-2 engines under the base order, plus three additional engines under the optional order, and 10 W-46-SU12 W-2 engines under the base order, plus two additional engines under the optional order. The deadline for submitting requests to participate in the procedure expired on February 23. The sole contract-award criterion was price, at 100 percent.
Two bids were received, and on April 17 the selected bidder was a consortium comprising Polish company STV POLSKA as the leader and Czech company STV GROUP a.s., which priced its services at 4,256,340 PLN. The second bidder proposed a higher price of 4,554,000 PLN. The relevant contract was signed on May 3. The contract is to remain in force for 190 days for the base order and up to 210 days for the optional order, from the date of its conclusion, but no later than November 27, 2026. The place of contract performance is the Gałkówek Depot near Łódź, which belongs to the 3. RBLog.
The UTD-20 765-01Z2 W-2 engine is a variant of the UTD-20 that powers Polish BWP-1 infantry fighting vehicles and BWR-1D/S combat reconnaissance vehicles. The most recent contract for their overhaul was signed on May 15, 2025, with RSY of Iława and was worth 4,153,600 PLN.
The UTD-20 is a six-cylinder, four-stroke, naturally aspirated, liquid-cooled diesel engine. It is built in a V configuration and has a displacement of 15,800 cm³. Its output at 2,600 rpm is 300 hp. Power from the engine is transferred to the drive wheels by means of a mechanically and hydraulically controlled mechanical powertrain. The power transmission mechanism enables the vehicle to reverse, brake, and turn. The gearbox has five forward gears plus reverse. The total fuel capacity is 462 dm³.
The W-46-SU12 W-2 engine, in turn, is a variant of the W-46 that powers tanks of the T-72 family and the PT-91 Twardy. It is a four-stroke, V12, 12-cylinder, liquid-cooled diesel engine with direct fuel injection and a displacement of 38.88 liters, generating a maximum output of 780–850 hp depending on the variant and year of production, as well as torque of 2,800–3,200 Nm.
