Deputy Minister Paweł Zalewski and representatives of the Polish defence industry were also present. On July 7, they took part in the international NATO Summit Defence Industry Forum (NSDIF26).
„We have just concluded a very successful Summit, a NATO Summit in Ankara that was particularly successful for Poland. It demonstrated once again that Poland sets an example and is a model ally. In addition to the Summit itself, the bilateral meetings were highly important, particularly those with our American partners. Yesterday, I had the opportunity to speak at length with Pete Hegseth, the U.S. Secretary of War, who reaffirmed all of the United States’ alliance commitments to Poland,” Deputy Prime Minister Władysław Kosiniak-Kamysz said at a press conference on Wednesday.

One of the decisions adopted at the Summit concerns strengthening the fuel supply chain for NATO countries to ensure that their armed forces have access to the energy supplies required to maintain combat readiness.
„One of the major objectives we had pursued for many years was a decision to extend the fuel pipeline network eastward across Europe. This was a joint effort by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the ambassador, the Ministry of National Defence, and our military representatives to NATO. I would like to thank everyone involved for their cooperation. I am pleased that today we have both a strong decision affirming allied unity and a highly specific decision to extend dual-use fuel pipelines eastward—from western Germany to Poland and the Baltic states—as well as southward to the Visegrád Group countries. These pipelines will serve both peacetime and wartime needs,” the head of the Ministry of National Defence said (Poland’s connection to NATO pipeline system enters new stage).
NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte also discussed the decision during the press conference in Ankara: „While Allies are still working out the details, we know that this 27 billion euro investment will modernize our existing fuel storage and distribution infrastructure and support new facilities, including pipelines extending to the eastern part of the Alliance.”
„Europe is taking greater responsibility for the conventional defense of its territory, for the independence of its supply chains, and for arms production. That production must be sufficient not only to fill stockpiles, but also to replace the equipment, ammunition, and other military supplies that could be consumed during a war. At the very least, adequate production capacity must be secured for deterrence purposes, so that no one will ever seek to attack us,” the defense minister said.
„NATO exists to ensure that it is not attacked. NATO exists to project strength. Freedom, independence, and the protection of our citizens, our territory, and our values must be defended through the strength of our armed forces, our alliances, and our citizens. These things do not defend themselves simply because of their beauty or value. They are protected only when that strength is real. Today, the strength of the Alliance has been reaffirmed. All the objectives that Deputy Prime Minister Sikorski and I had set, and that Poland pursued jointly with the president, who attended today’s Summit, have been achieved,” Deputy Prime Minister Kosiniak-Kamysz emphasized.
