“The delivery of the MCC Mobile Communications Nodes was made possible by a complex, multi-stage design and technological process. I would like to thank the entire WZŁ-1 team for their commitment. Every department made a significant contribution to the creation of this solution, which is now being delivered to the end user, the Armed Forces,” said Sławomir Obszyński, President of the Management Board of WZŁ-1. “The MCC project opened up new opportunities for the further development of the company’s competencies. The introduction of the MCC into production and their delivery to the Polish Armed Forces confirm that WZŁ-1 remains one of the key suppliers of advanced communications systems for the Armed Forces. Proof of this is the record-breaking contract signed at the end of September 2025 for the delivery of an additional 56 Mobile Communications Nodes for the needs of Phase II of the Wisła program,” he added.

It’s worth noting that on November 30, 2021, the then Armament Inspectorate of the Polish Ministry of National Defence (now the Armament Agency) signed a contract worth approximately 233 million gross PLN with WZŁ-1 for the development and delivery of four Mobile Communications Nodes (MCC1). On December 17 of the same year, WZŁ-1 concluded a contract with the German holding SMAG (Salzgitter Maschinenbau Group) of Salzgitter, Lower Saxony, for the supply of antenna masts. Subsequently, on January 13, 2023, it was reported that H. Cegielski-Poznań had delivered the base frame of the antenna mast for the first MCC set.
On October 18, 2023, WZŁ-1 announced that at the end of September, representatives of the contracting authority had accepted the first stage of the project, confirming that the formal documentation requirements were in line with the adopted technical assumptions. This was followed by a series of tests and trials, which confirmed compliance with the customer’s requirements for the manufactured product.
As a product distinguished by its originality and innovative technical solutions, the Mobile Communications Node received the DEFENDER Award at this year’s 31st International Defence Industry Exhibition MSPO 2023 in Kielce.
The Road to Project Implementation
Work on the MCC made use of both the latest solutions in transmission and IT systems as well as mast construction, along with WZŁ-1’s many years of experience gained, among other things, during the development of Mobile Digital Communications Nodes (RWŁC). The project also opened up new opportunities for cooperation and development across the entire PGZ Group, strengthening domestic capabilities in the field of modern military communications systems.
What Is the MCC Mobile Communications Node?
The MCC Mobile Communications Node is an advanced, modern mobile communications facility based on Jelcz P112.57 vehicles, equipped with a lattice mast and integrated IT and communications systems. It provides high-quality and reliable voice communications and data transmission, automatically compensating for changing signal propagation conditions. The system is characterized by a high degree of energy autonomy, based on the vehicle’s onboard installation, redundant generator sets, and internal combustion power supply systems. Thanks to a high level of automation, including unattended deployment of the antenna mast, the MCC enables rapid achievement of operational readiness.
Mobile Communications Nodes can serve as access points to wired and wireless networks, support point-to-point, point-to-multipoint, and full-mesh connections, and interoperate with systems used by the Polish Armed Forces and NATO countries. Mobility and off-road capability are ensured by a specially prepared five-axle chassis, while crew safety is provided by certified armored cab protection.
Compatibility with Other Systems
The MCC systems were designed in accordance with the requirements of the Polish Armed Forces and constitute a key interface between the IBCS command-and-control system and national command systems. They meet the highest standards of the modern battlefield, ensuring interoperability and full adaptation to the realities of a network-centric operational environment. Through their production, WZŁ-1 provides the Polish Armed Forces with modern and reliable solutions in the fields of air defense, missile defense, and command-and-control and communications systems.
The project was implemented as part of cooperation with key companies of the Polish Armaments Group: Jelcz, OBR CTM, PIT-Radwar, WZE, and OBRUM, as well as with the Polish private sector. This represents an example of effective partnership in support of the development of modern technologies domestically.
