On Monday, September 14, 2026, the Air Operations Center – Air Component Command (AOC-ACC) announced the start of exercise Fearless Eagle-26, which will run through September 23. It is the AOC-ACC’s largest training event of 2026 and an important element in preparing for operations in a modern multidomain environment.

The exercise will be conducted as part of the Black Defender-26 exercise federation and will constitute one of its main elements. It will focus on improving capabilities for planning, commanding, and conducting complex air operations, as well as cooperation with components of other branches of the armed forces. Several thousand soldiers and dozens of aircraft will take part, with more than 100 flight missions planned during the exercise.
One of the key training areas will be the integration of land and air operations. This will allow participants to improve cooperation between elements responsible for conducting air operations and components carrying out missions in the land domain. The joint activities are intended to increase the effectiveness of available capabilities and ensure their proper synchronization within the overall operation.
Fearless Eagle-26 will also have an important international dimension. Forces from allied countries will participate, allowing training to be conducted under conditions reflecting not only national operations but also missions carried out jointly with NATO and coalition partners.
Allied participation will also provide an opportunity to improve interoperability, exchange experience, and test the ability to operate effectively in a multinational operational environment.
An integral element of the exercise will be the use of a broad spectrum of capabilities and assets, including support from AWACS airborne early warning and control aircraft. Their participation will increase the complexity of the training environment and allow missions to be conducted under conditions approaching those of a full-scale multidomain operation.
The combination of a large number of participants, various types of aircraft, more than 100 flight missions, and the involvement of allied components will make Fearless Eagle-26 an exercise requiring a high level of coordination and cooperation.
Fearless Eagle-26 is not only a test of air operations capabilities. Above all, it is training focused on operating together across multiple domains, with the participation of multiple components and in an international environment.
