A key role in this segment will be played by the newly established company AviaNera Technologies a.s., which will oversee the development, production, and trade of UAS technologies.

CSG’s Entry into the Unmanned Aerial Systems Segment
AviaNera will from the outset be closely linked with Excalibur International a.s., the leading trading agency of the CSG Group, which operates globally with products from CSG companies and their partners, while also possessing extensive experience in managing demanding projects in the field of advanced defense systems.
Our goal is to become a significant player in the field of military UAS and advanced weapon systems. Just as we managed within a few years to build a strong position in the small-caliber ammunition sector, we now aim to achieve something similar in the segment of high-tech defense technologies, says Michal Strnad, owner and CEO of the CSG Group.
Thanks to the close connection between Excalibur International and AviaNera, an experienced commercial and project team already active in trading UAS technologies and handling defense projects worth hundreds of millions of euros will work from the very beginning on developing CSG’s activities in this segment. What’s new is that we will be able to offer customers our own UAS systems, developed and manufactured fully in-house, adds Miloš Šivara, CEO of Excalibur International.
AviaNera to be Led by Pavel Čechal
AviaNera will be headed by experienced manager Pavel Čechal, who joined CSG from the position of COO of PBS Group. Under his leadership, the company is focusing on quickly building development and production capabilities in the area of UAS and their key components.
As in other sectors, we strive for maximum vertical integration so we can supply customers with final products and complete systems developed and manufactured directly by us. In doing so, we will make use of synergies with CSG companies active, for example, in ammunition production or software solutions for drone operations, explains Pavel Čechal.
The AviaNera team is currently negotiating several acquisitions of promising companies in Europe and is also establishing partnerships in Ukraine, which today is a key driver of military UAS technology development. The company’s priority is the development and production of propulsion units for unmanned systems—jet, turbofan, and shaft engines.
The name AviaNera symbolically refers to the aviation tradition of Letňany’s Avia while at the same time expressing the beginning of a new era in unmanned technologies.
A breakthrough period is coming in aviation. In the future, virtually all missions currently carried out by manned aircraft can be performed by UAS. Technology is no longer the obstacle; it is rather legislation, adds Pavel Čechal.
Given the expected dynamic growth of the defense UAS market and the rising demand for powerful, compact, and efficient propulsion units, this segment offers exceptionally strong market potential.
