“Following the positive decision of the Council of the European Union and the approval of Poland’s Investment Plan under the SAFE instrument, we, as representatives of the Polish defense industry, emphasize that the SAFE program – alongside its key objective of strengthening the security of the Republic of Poland – represents an unprecedented opportunity to expand and accelerate the production capacity of the entire domestic defense sector.
The implementation of the SAFE mechanism will mean a radical increase in defense production. This is not only an expansion of manufacturing capacity within individual companies, but also an impact on the entire, extensive network of domestic suppliers and subcontractors.
The SAFE mechanism is a tremendous opportunity for the Polish defense industry to secure new contracts – both domestic and export. Growing interest in Polish defense products is already visible across Europe. In this regard, Polish defense companies are ready to cooperate.
For Poland, the local content aspect is also crucial. Investments financed through SAFE funds will generate new jobs, not only directly within the defense industry but also throughout the broader logistics and supply chain ecosystem. These investments also translate into tax revenues that remain in Poland and return to the state budget, supporting the national economy. Finally, they create an opportunity to intensify research and development activities and expand industrial competencies.
SAFE constitutes a unique opportunity for the Polish defense industry and for our national security. As stakeholders co-responsible for shaping its implementation, we are acting together to ensure that Poland does not miss this opportunity.”
