MPS operation
The Radom Modular Semi-Automatic Pistol (MPS) has been in development for quite some time, generating interest within the shooting community. Fabryka Broni has now announced that it is ready to begin sales of the MPS as early as August. The MILMAG editorial team presents the final configuration intended for retail.
The Modular Semi-Automatic Pistol (MPS) chambered in 9×19 mm is a personal firearm designed for short-range shooting. The pistol operates on the principle of short recoil, with the barrel locked by tilting vertically. It fires in semi-automatic mode. The MPS is a striker-fired pistol equipped with a trigger system that pre-cocks the firing mechanism (semi-DAO). Full cocking of the striker occurs as the trigger is pulled.
The pistol can be used by both right- and left-handed shooters. The slide stop lever is ambidextrous. The magazine release button is factory-installed on the left side of the grip, near the trigger guard, but it can be switched to the other side. The takedown lever is mounted on the left side of the pistol.

The pistol is equipped with fixed metal sights. It features an ergonomic grip that can be adjusted to the user’s hand using interchangeable backstraps available in three sizes.
The grip includes a Picatinny rail compliant with MIL-STD-1913, intended for mounting a laser aiming device or tactical light. It is a detachable component separate from the frame and is not considered an essential part of the firearm, allowing it to be freely replaced.

The rear upper part of the slide is prepared for mounting a micro red dot sight.
The pistol is equipped with a trigger safety to prevent accidental or premature discharge, as well as an automatic firing pin safety that is only disengaged when the trigger is pulled. The firearm also features a loaded chamber indicator. By default, the pistol is fed from 15-round box magazines.

What sets the Radom pistol apart is the use of an internal chassis that is separate from the polymer grip. This design allows the frame, which houses the trigger module (the firearm’s essential component), to be used with grips of different sizes or colors.
The MPS units tested by MILMAG allowed for unrestricted interchangeability of frames, slides, barrels, and recoil assemblies. In every configuration, the pistols functioned without malfunctions, which indeed seems to confirm their modularity.
The shooting characteristics of the MPS are similar to those of other firearms featuring a heavy steel slide paired with a lightweight polymer grip. However, the grip’s ergonomics and the proper selection of backstraps enable reasonable recoil control, translating to decent groupings on target.
In its current configuration, the Radom MPS is a striker-fired compact pistol intended for concealed carry. Thanks to its solid ergonomics and compatibility with a wide range of accessories, it also performs well in dynamic shooting scenarios.
