The second day of the 33rd International Defence Industry Exhibition brought further significant events for the Polish Armaments Group. The PGZ exhibition was visited by Prime Minister Donald Tusk (Polish Government will increase funding for PGZ and its partner companies and institutes).

Representatives of PGZ S.A. signed agreements with three military research institutes. Cooperation with the Military Institute of Armored and Automotive Technology (Wojskowy Instytut Techniki Pancernej i Samochodowej, WITPiS) will cover research, development, and implementation of modern technological solutions in the fields of military vehicles, technical equipment, mechanics, transport, materials engineering, as well as propulsion and control systems. The agreement with the Polish Air Force Institute of Technology (Instytut Techniczny Wojsk Lotniczych, ITWL) includes the production of Unmanned Aerial Weapon Systems, while cooperation with the Military Institute of Armament Technology (Wojskowy Instytut Techniczny Uzbrojenia, WITU) will focus on technological development and the implementation within the Armed Forces of the Republic of Poland of modern solutions of strategic importance for national security.
“The agreements signed today provide a framework for cooperation between PGZ and institutions with extensive experience that we can leverage in developing modern solutions for the Armed Forces,” emphasized Piotr Zawieja, Vice President of the Management Board of PGZ.
Following the earlier agreement with Bank Gospodarstwa Krajowego, on the second day cooperation was established with another key Polish financial institution. In the presence of Minister of State Assets Wojciech Balczun, PGZ signed a strategic cooperation agreement with PKO Bank Polski. Under the agreement, the bank will provide comprehensive financial support for PGZ and its subsidiaries. The deal enables the launch of credit lines with a total target value of several billion for the defense sector, addressing the needs of PGZ and its subsidiaries. PKO Bank Polski also declared its readiness to co-finance not only commercial contracts but also investment needs related to the construction and expansion of new production capacities. The cooperation additionally covers the financing of supply chains, technology partners, and PGZ’s export projects.
“The Polish Armaments Group is the leader of the national defense sector, with growing aspirations in the export of modern and innovative armament solutions. The dynamic changes taking place within the Group itself require increased financial outlays. To meet the rising expectations placed on PGZ, we are seeking partners in various domains, including financing. That is why building partnerships with such important entities in the financial sector as PKO Bank Polski is so crucial,” emphasized Adam Leszkiewicz, President of the Management Board of PGZ.
Cooperation with the Łukasiewicz Research Network was also strengthened through the signing of an agreement on research and development as well as the transfer of modern technologies to the Polish defense industry. With the Łukasiewicz Center of Electrotechnics, part of the Research Network, PGZ subsidiary WCBKT signed a letter of intent outlining the framework for cooperation in the area of energy security.
“PGZ is the largest partner for the Armed Forces of the Republic of Poland. The Łukasiewicz Research Network is the most important partner for the industry in the field of research and development. We are strengthening our cooperation. In short: we are getting down to work,” said Jan Grabowski, Vice President of the Management Board of PGZ.
MSPO has traditionally also been a venue for strengthening cooperation with the world’s largest defense companies. Wojskowe Zakłady Elektroniczne (WZE) in Zielonka signed an agreement with Raytheon for the execution of a commercial order for ESA modules under Phase II of the Wisła program (Poland’s mid-range air defense program). Meanwhile, an agreement between PGZ and Safran Electronics & Defense provides for the expansion of industrial cooperation aimed at strengthening Europe’s security (MSPO 2025: RTX Establishes WZE as the First Foreign Supplier in the LTAMDS Program).
An agreement was also concluded between PGZ, PGZ Stocznia Wojenna, and the French Naval Group concerning industrial cooperation in the area of naval production.
As part of building relations with the private sector, Huta Stalowa Wola signed a letter of intent with PONAR Wadowice to establish a project consortium focused on research and development of semi-active hydropneumatic suspensions for tracked vehicles. Meanwhile, as part of optimizing activities within the Group, agreements were signed for PGZ to acquire shares in HSW, Mesko, and Gamrat (MSPO 2025: HSW Receives Additional Funding from the Capital Investment Fund).
Substantive discussions were also not lacking. On the stage of the Polish Armaments Group, in cooperation with Puls Biznesu, a debate was held entitled Ammunition Production in Poland – Current Status and Development Plans. Participants included Arkadiusz Bąk, First Vice President of PGZ; Paweł Bielski, Vice President of Grupa Azoty; and Artur Kucia, Director of the Strategic Client Department at PKO Bank Polski. During the discussion, Arkadiusz Bąk, speaking about the expansion of 155 mm ammunition production capacity within PGZ companies, emphasized the pace of the Group’s work (Polish Armaments Group’s Concept for the Construction of Three Ammunition Factories).
“What we will accomplish in two and a half years is an express investment,” stressed President Arkadiusz Bąk, adding that under normal circumstances this process, especially the transfer of technology, takes years. “The first ammunition factory already has land plots, building designs, and machinery plans,” he noted. Asked about the announced selection of a strategic partner for 155 mm ammunition production by PGZ companies, he said: “We are at the final stage of negotiations, and a decision on this matter can be expected within days.”
In addition, Marcin Idzik, Vice President of PGZ S.A., took part in the debate Poland–Korea Cooperation in the Defense Industry – Opportunities and Challenges, organized by the editorial team of the portal Defence24.pl.
“Why will Bumar Łabędy produce the K2? Because this plant has always produced tanks. It has the facilities and the history. The Armament Agency and Hyundai Rotem helped us in making this decision. After analyzing the capabilities of the plants, we concluded that in Gliwice the technology transfer would be absorbed the fastest and most effectively,” said Vice President Idzik during the debate.
