A Few Words About the KJI Brand
Founded in 2012, KJI initially focused on supports for hunting rifles before introducing the Reaper rifle support in 2014. Shortly thereafter, in 2015, the company launched the Reaper Grip, which helped propel KJI to the forefront of innovation in multifunction firearm support systems. Since then, KJI’s continued development has solidified its position as an undisputed leader in the field of firearm accessories designed for elite military units, competitive shooters, and hunting enthusiasts.
The KJI Nomad Ball Head
The Nomad is the smaller of the two mounts, measuring 40 mm in diameter.

The panoramic-style head is equipped with two adjustment knobs. One allows 360-degree horizontal rotation only, while the other enables movement of the head in all planes. In addition, KJI has outfitted the Nomad with a small quick-release lever that allows the head to be locked quickly without the need to use the main adjustment knob.
The head is factory-configured for mounting firearms and accessories via the ARCA/Swiss system (an adapter for cameras is included in the package).
Firearms are secured using a clamping lever, and the KJI Nomad head is additionally equipped with a bubble level. The head attaches to a tripod via a 3/8″-16 thread.
The Nomad weighs 456 grams, and according to U.S. sources, its price is expected to be around 250 USD.
KJI Titan Ball Mount
The Titan is the larger of the two new mount models offered by KJI. It features a 60 mm diameter and is noticeably bigger and more robust than the Nomad described above.
The Titan is an inverted head design. One of its clear advantages is that when the firearm mounted in the head is moved, the adjustment knob moves together with the firearm and the head – meaning it always remains in the same position and doesn’t have to be searched for.
Despite its size, the Titan is a distinctly minimalist product. With only a single adjustment knob and a noticeable lack of a bubble level, this may be seen as a drawback.
The second control on the Titan is the ARCA/Swiss clamping lever used to secure the firearm. In the Titan’s case, the lever is also equipped with a safety mechanism to prevent accidental release – a feature that the Nomad’s lever does not have.
The larger of the two new KJI heads weighs 887 g, with an expected U.S. retail price of 350 USD.
Both new KJI heads can be disassembled for cleaning by simply removing the screws. According to the manufacturer, Picatinny adapters are expected to become available soon, allowing firearms equipped with rails in this system to be mounted as well. The load capacity of the heads is rated at 27.2 kg.
We would like to thank Hubertus Pro, the Polish distributor of KJI, for the opportunity to take a closer look at the KJI Nomad and Titan heads. More details are available on the manufacturer’s website.
