U.S. under secretary of state for arms control and international security visits Poland

On Thursday, June 11, 2026, Secretary of State at the Ministry of National Defence Paweł Zalewski met with U.S. Under Secretary of State for Arms Control and International Security Thomas G. DiNanno. Under Secretary DiNanno’s visit to Poland forms part of an intensive political dialogue with representatives of the U.S. administration on defense issues and the upcoming NATO summit in Ankara.

During the talks, the importance of developing further cooperation was emphasized, particularly in the areas of industrial cooperation, ensuring NATO’s necessary capabilities in Europe, increasing the presence of U.S. troops in Poland, and making that deployment permanent.

The U.S. side highlighted Poland’s importance as a model ally and reliable partner whose decisions and actions demonstrate how to respond to the dynamically changing challenges of the security environment.
