On Wednesday, May 27, 2026, the Polish Ministry of National Defence announced that Deputy Minister Paweł Bejda, who is responsible within the ministry for overseeing the technical modernization of the Polish Armed Forces, had visited the United States, where he held a series of meetings on defense cooperation, the development of military capabilities, and ongoing modernization programs of the Polish Armed Forces.

During the visit, the deputy head of the Polish Ministry of National Defence met with Michael Duffey, Under Secretary of War for Acquisition and Sustainment; Thomas DiNanno, Under Secretary of State for Arms Control and International Security; and Mary Beth Morgan, Acting Director of the Defense Security Cooperation Agency.
The talks concerned the further strengthening of Polish-U.S. defense cooperation, technology transfer, the development of maintenance capabilities, and cooperation in the field of security in the context of the current geopolitical situation. The meetings were also an opportunity to discuss ongoing modernization programs, as well as financial mechanisms supporting the development of Poland’s defense potential.
„Cooperation with the United States is of key importance for the security of Poland and NATO’s entire eastern flank. We discussed concrete solutions that strengthen the capabilities of the Polish Armed Forces, increase our security, and develop industrial and maintenance potential in Poland,” Deputy Minister of National Defense Paweł Bejda emphasized.
Continuing his visit, the deputy defense minister went to Boeing’s facilities, where he met with Kathleen Jolivette, the company’s vice president and general manager for helicopters. The meeting was an opportunity to see the CH-47 Chinook production line. The Chinook is one of the most important heavy transport helicopters used, among others, by the armed forces of allied countries.
Deputy Minister Paweł Bejda’s visit to the United States was another stage in strengthening the Polish-U.S. strategic partnership in the areas of defense, security, and the development of military capabilities.
