On Monday, May 11, 2026, the 1st Transport Aviation Base from Warsaw (1. The planned contract covers scheduled maintenance services and additional work on G550 aircraft registration number 0001, scheduled between May 31 and June 19 this year, and 0002, scheduled between July 31 and August 28 this year. The deadline for submitting requests to participate in the procedure expired on May 11, after being changed from April 29.
The initial estimated maximum amount that the contracting authority intended to allocate to the contract was 1,356,907.56 PLN net, or 1,668,996.30 PLN gross, but on May 5 it was increased to 2,000,000 PLN gross.
One bid was received from Jet Aviation of Basel (Aeschengraben), Switzerland, amounting to 1,646,327.12 PLN net. As a foreign bid, VAT was not shown.
The choice of the accelerated procedure was justified by the fact that, due to the protracted procedure for concluding a service agreement by the 3rd Regional Logistics Base, the 1st Base is forced to conduct its own tender in order to maintain continuous operational capability to carry out HEAD-status aviation missions.
On August 31, 2016, the Ministry of National Defence announced plans to purchase five VIP-class aircraft, two small and three medium-sized, for a total of 1.7 billion PLN. On October 14, two offers were received for the small aircraft: the Falcon 7X from Dassault Aviation and the G550 from Gulfstream Aerospace Corporation. On October 21, the American offer was selected as the winner. The contract, worth 440,566,300.80 PLN, was signed on November 14.
On January 6, 2017, both aircraft intended for Poland were presented at Gulfstream’s facilities in Savannah, Georgia. The aircraft arrived in Poland on June 21 (named Książę Józef Poniatowski), and July 29, (Generał Kazimierz Pułaski). The first operational flight, to Paris, was carried out by Pułaski on November 20.
