During the 29th edition of Eurosatory 2026, the international defense industry trade show organized by Coges Events and taking place June 15-19 of this year in Paris-Nord Villepinte near Paris, German company Rolls-Royce Power Systems (part of Rolls-Royce Solutions GmbH, which belongs to the British Rolls-Royce group) presented three diesel engines from the Series 199 for military vehicle applications.

Models presented:
- MTU 6V 199 TE20/21 – six cylinders; output from 260 to 460 kW (354 to 625 hp); torque of 1800/2100/2200 Nm; length 1097-1203 mm, width 950-963 mm, height 963-994 mm, and dry weight of 1027 kg; powered by F-54 fuel or alternatively F-34 and F-63.
- MTU 8V 199 TE20/21/23 – eight cylinders; output from 530 to 600/800 kW (721 to 816-1090 hp); torque of 2100/2300 Nm; parameters for TE20: 1179 mm length, 1067 mm width, 963 mm height, 1272 kg dry weight; parameters for TE21/23: 1340 mm length, 1000 mm width, 968 mm height, 1340 kg dry weight; powered by F-54 fuel or alternatively F-34 and F-63.
- MTU 12V 199 – twelve cylinders; output up to 1230 kW (1835 hp); torque of 2300 Nm; dimensions: 1490 mm length, 1000 mm width, 940 mm height, and 1980 kg weight (dry); powered by EN590, F-54 fuel or alternatively F-34, F-63, and EN15940.
The MTU 6V 199 powers the TPz Fuchs 2, Piranha V, and ACSV G5 armored personnel carriers, while the MTU 8V 199 powers the GTK Boxer, ASCOD 2 (including Ajax), and Borsuk infantry fighting vehicles, as well as the M10 Booker light tank. It is also being offered, together with German companies FFG Flensburger Fahrzeugbau Gesellschaft and ZF Friedrichshafen AG, for the re-engining of Leopard 1 tanks.
The MTU 12V 199 is a new addition.
The company is also working on the ten-cylinder MTU 10V 199 diesel engine as an alternative engine for the Leopard 2 tank, as well as for the future European tank under the MGCS (Main Ground Combat Systems) program, which is intended to generate 1103 kW (1500 hp).
