On Friday, March 6, 2026, the 18th Military Logistic Unit in Wejherowo (18. WOG) published information about the signing of a contract with a consortium consisting of Wojskowe Zakłady Elektroniczne of Zielonka (WZE) and Norway’s Kongsberg Defence & Aerospace (KDA) for the recertification of NSM (Naval Strike Missile) anti-ship missiles after a 10-year storage period.

The contract was awarded following the completion of a negotiated procedure without prior publication of a contract notice. The contracting authority had planned to allocate 103,840,000 PLN net (127,723,200 gross PLN) for this purpose, and this is also the value of the signed contract. The agreement is to be carried out by November 30, 2029.
Under the contract, Depot Level Maintenance (DLM) will be performed on 22 NSM missiles in Launch Missile Modules (LMM). The final result should include determining and extending their technical service life together with a defined timeframe for the safe operation of the missiles. The service for the LMM consists of restoring and reinstating their operational properties and replacing worn components and consumable materials. In addition, the final result of the service should include verification of the technical condition of the remaining components and subassemblies. The removal of any detected malfunctions will be subject to separate arrangements. A detailed description of the subject of the contract is included in Annex No. 1 to the draft agreement.
The work will be carried out at the NSM Missile Production and Service Center at Wojskowe Zakłady Elektroniczne in Zielonka, which was launched in 2021 as part of an offset agreement with the Norwegian side. The contract results from the fact that, according to the technical documentation of the NSM missiles, their recertification must take place at 10-year intervals.
The Polish Navy includes the Naval Missile Unit (MJR) of the 3rd Ship Flotilla in Siemirowice, composed of two Coastal Missile Squadrons (NDR) equipped with the NSM-CDS (Coastal Defence System) coastal defense system. In September 2023, two additional Naval Missile Units were contracted, which will allow the formation of a Naval Missile Brigade based on three units.
On April 7, 2023, Wojskowe Zakłady Elektroniczne signed a contract for servicing and technical support of military equipment used in the NSM-CDS coastal defense system, which includes mobile missile launchers (MLV), squadron command vehicles (SCV), battery command vehicles (BCV), command and control vehicles (CCV), transport and loading vehicles (TLV), mobile communication centers (MCC), and equipment for testing (BAT) NSM anti-ship missiles.
In the near future, NSM missiles will also be introduced into the armament of the three Project 106 Wicher multirole missile frigates being built under the Miecznik program.
