The opening day of the jubilee edition, marking the 20th anniversary of BSDA, brought together more than 11,000 visitors, official delegations from over 30 countries, and representatives of the world’s leading defense and security companies. The official program for the next two days includes high-level political, military, and diplomatic visits and meetings, as well as delegations led by chiefs of defense, service commanders, and representatives of the governments of NATO allied and partner states. The trade fair was officially opened on Wednesday in Bucharest, followed by visits from Czech President Petr Pavel and Slovak President Peter Pellegrini, who arrived directly after the Bucharest Nine (B9) Summit in the Romanian capital.

The official opening ceremony was held under the High Patronage of the President of Romania, in the presence of more than 1,000 official guests.
The 10th edition of BSDA brings together more than 650 exhibitors from 36 countries and seven national pavilions, in a regional context marked by growing defense investment and the development of new military capabilities. The exhibition halls and outdoor area showcase aerospace, naval, and land systems and technologies, as well as solutions in drones, counter-drone systems, cyber defense, and artificial intelligence applications in defense.
Highlights of this year’s edition include companies involved in Romania’s major defense procurement programs, as well as Ukrainian manufacturers presenting technologies proven in real combat conditions.
For the first time at BSDA, the CSA Steaua București Army Sports Club is present with its own pavilion dedicated to the club’s sporting achievements and history. Exhibits include the UEFA Champions League trophy won in 1986 and Olympic gold medals of some of the club’s most recognizable athletes.
The first two days of the event are reserved exclusively for official, military, and business guests. On Friday, May 15, admission to the outdoor exhibition area will also be open to the general public. Representatives of Romanian companies and local authorities can still register directly at the event entry points.
