On Friday, 12 December 2025, Bank Ochrony Środowiska and the Polish Armaments Group signed a letter of intent on cooperation. The partnership предусматривает the exchange of mutual experience, knowledge, and potential in undertaken projects, primarily related to energy transition, environmental optimization, and thermal modernization, financed inter alia through BOŚ loans as well as preferential funds from the National Fund for Environmental Protection and Water Management (NFOŚiGW) and the Voivodeship Funds for Environmental Protection and Water Management (WFOŚiGW).
“Cooperation between BOŚ and PGZ is of particular importance. In the face of both armed conflicts and the energy transition, which requires significant commitment on our part, we believe that joint actions will bring benefits in addressing both challenges. From my perspective, there is no area today that can remain without a response to the changes taking place and the resulting pro-environmental needs. This is especially true in such a sensitive area as defense, which requires wise, structured financing of modern solutions that enhance and safeguard energy efficiency. I am proud that we will be acting together in this field. I see in this not only business potential, but also the fulfillment of a responsibility,” said Bartosz Kublik, President of the Management Board of Bank Ochrony Środowiska.
“In recent weeks, the Polish Armaments Group has established broad cooperation with the banking sector, primarily through key partnerships with PKO BP and BGK. However, new challenges lie ahead in the area of sustainable development, including the energy transition. As the PGZ Group, we are present in virtually every part of Poland and approach investment in security with seriousness and responsibility, not only the security of the state, but also that of the natural environment. Cooperation with a financial institution such as Bank Ochrony Środowiska opens up new opportunities, ranging from green technological innovations to risk management standards. This demonstrates that even the most demanding industries can actively support ESG goals, with due care for the environment in which they operate,” emphasized Adam Leszkiewicz, President of the Management Board of the Polish Armaments Group.
Financing structure and ESG advisory services
According to the assumptions, the cooperation aimed at the environmentally sustainable development of the PGZ Capital Group will involve a number of activities. Among other things, Bank Ochrony Środowiska will conduct a review of the potential of companies belonging to the PGZ Group in terms of opportunities to increase energy efficiency.
The bank will prepare a financing structure for pro-environmental investment projects, making use of appropriate preferential public financing programs, including funds from the National Fund for Environmental Protection and Water Management (NFOŚiGW), the Voivodeship Funds for Environmental Protection and Water Management (WFOŚiGW), Bank Gospodarstwa Krajowego (BGK), and the European Investment Bank (EIB).
At the same time, BOŚ will participate in consultations on the development of PGZ’s decarbonization and energy efficiency improvement plan, taking into account the baseline situation, directions of action, and potential economic and environmental effects.
PGZ will also receive ESG-related support from BOŚ, with a particular focus on reporting and sustainable development strategy, including specific attention to EU green taxonomy requirements and decarbonization.
PGZ employees will be trained, among other topics, in the impact of energy efficiency on financial performance, the availability of technologies related to energy efficiency and the circular economy, as well as the procedures for obtaining so-called white certificates.
The bank will also enable consultations with its environmental engineers, including on topics such as detailed planning of investment processes, the completeness of project documentation, and the identification of measurable environmental effects.
Use of products and services offered by BOŚ
In the signed letter of intent, the parties declare their intention to cooperate in the use by companies belonging to the PGZ Group of products and services available within the BOŚ Group, including, among others:
- day-to-day banking services and settlement products;
- electronic banking;
- preparation of financing structures for investment projects involving, inter alia, BOŚ loans and preferential funds from the National Fund for Environmental Protection and Water Management (NFOŚiGW) and the Voivodeship Funds for Environmental Protection and Water Management (WFOŚiGW);
