The planned total cost of the Project amounts to 455,082,352.95 PLN. The estimated EU contribution is 386.82 million PLN. Project implementation period: Q3 2024 – Q2 2029.
Program: European Funds for Infrastructure, Climate and Environment 2021–2027, Priority: V – Support for the Transport Sector from the ERDF, Measure: FENX.05.07 Maritime Safety and Inland Waterways outside the Trans-European Transport Network (TEN-T).
The project is of strategic importance within the meaning of Article 2(5) of the Common Provisions Regulation.
The main objective of the project is to improve maritime navigation safety within the Polish Search and Rescue (SAR) responsibility area by strengthening the operational capabilities of MSPiR. The project will impact current and future users (both individuals and businesses) operating in the Baltic Sea within Poland’s SAR responsibility area, including:
- crews of merchant vessels,
- crews and passengers of ocean-going passenger ships and ferries,
- crews of recreational craft,
- fishermen,
- offshore personnel servicing maritime installations and infrastructure.

The output of the project will be the construction of 12 specialist rescue vessels for MSPiR:
- 1 new multi-role specialist rescue vessel;
- 6 new SAR-2000 type specialist rescue vessels;
- 2 specialist rescue vessels (cabin rescue boats) for the Vistula Lagoon and the Szczecin Lagoon;
- 3 specialist rescue vessels (specialist boats) for combating oil pollution in sheltered and shallow waters.
The material scope of the project also includes the procurement of 7 support units (heavy trucks equipped with portable communication systems) operating in cooperation with SAR-2000 vessels and specialist cabin rescue boats.
The project will improve navigation safety and enhance the operational capabilities of MSPiR. Its implementation will result in reduced response times to the most distant locations within Poland’s SAR responsibility area and increased coverage of maritime areas during response operations.
