The cooperation agreement between the Military University of Technology and Zakłady Metalowe Dezamet in Nowa Dęba was signed on January 14, 2026, in Warsaw by the Rector-Commandant of the Military University of Technology, Brig. Gen. Prof. Dr. Hab. Eng. Przemysław Wachulak, and the President of the Management Board of ZM Dezamet, Dariusz Szlęzak.
“We place great emphasis on deepening cooperation with the economy, including with Dezamet, a company from the PGZ Group. We want jointly developed solutions to be implemented in the Armed Forces of the Republic of Poland, and we have a rich history of such implementations as a partner in many consortia. We are fully aware of the importance of such cooperation in difficult and demanding times. At the Military University of Technology, we are working very intensively on new solutions; we are preparing a technology portfolio for the Polish Armed Forces and developing new design concepts, including in the field of ammunition. The number of projects and publications is growing, as are investments. We are also rapidly developing our human resources by educating future commanders for our Armed Forces, specialists in key technical and non-technical fields, as well as experts needed for offset programs. We also run elite, specialized postgraduate programs for employees of defense-industry companies cooperating with us. Poland is currently acquiring military equipment from abroad, but at the same time we are taking care of our own technologies in case supply chains are disrupted. This is strategically important for the security of the Republic of Poland,” emphasized the Rector-Commandant of the Military University of Technology, Brig. Gen. Prof. Przemysław Wachulak.
“Today we have begun a new stage in the long-standing cooperation between our company, Dezamet, and the Military University of Technology, we are intensifying our joint efforts. WAT serves as a backbone for many of our ammunition projects. We want to develop new technologies and, in doing so, expand our product portfolio, ensuring that it is tested, verified, and compliant with international standards. This will allow us to carry out the tasks set before us by the Ministry of State Assets, the Ministry of National Defence, and the Polish Armaments Group, so that we can defend our country in the event of a threat. The times require even closer cooperation with the military to ensure Poland’s technological sovereignty. The Academy provides us with indispensable expertise and technical knowledge and is a source of training that supports the development of our management staff. Our agreement represents the future, even in a generational dimension,” said President of the Management Board Dariusz Szlęzak.
To date, the Military University of Technology and Zakłady Metalowe Dezamet have carried out joint research and development projects, hold shared patents and publications, and have received prestigious awards. In 2012, they were awarded the Defender prize for the 40 mm Non-Lethal Weapons and Ammunition System (SBAO-40), one of the main awards presented at the International Defence Industry Exhibition. Their cooperation has also included student internships as well as scientific, research, and teaching consultations. In accordance with the agreement, a new stage of joint activities will now begin.
